To the people and police who helped stop a situation that was getting wildly out of control, thank you. I know that you all receive a lot of flack, but this is one person who appreciates you making this city a more calm place. I am happy to take my little ones through the park again without having to worry about people screaming, swearing, and protesting at us, thank you. —Thank You

screaming? Swearing?
Look i hate those turds as much as you do.. but your pants on fire friend…
I lived right beside them when they were in victoria.. and as annoying as their presence was.. they were NOT cussing or causing shit. They didn’t once bother me in any way except on principle.
uh uh.. caught’cha..
You caught nothing IK. Despite the self-congratulatory unified front they put on for the media and the mindless chanting, this was a very disparate group of people. Just because you never encountered any scumbags doesn’t mean the OP didn’t. Doesn’t mean they were all skells, but they sure as hell weren’t all saints either.
What?! A random sampling of people in society who are represented statistically by asshats, normals, and otherwise?
This camping bust is bull. It’s like busting Capone on tax evasion. The only way to shut them down on hand.
? just a block away there is still protesting…
those blue haired pro-lifers are still going strong.
For once i agree with Wheeliep.. If there was justifiable reason for getting rid of the camp, why haven’t we heard what that reason is?
Someone said it was because the street thugs were coming in and taking over. Good reason! So why all the hush hush about it? Why not come right out and tell us?
I don’t support random tent communities of iPhone whores. I do, however, support canadians’ right to protest any fool thing that comes into their heads. That’s part of what makes this country great. The freedom to be a relative asshat if the fancy strikes you.
Their “tent community” doesn’t seem very “random”, and since when does owning an iPhone make someone into Daddy Warbucks? It’s just a cellphone, but it’s one of the most repeated slogans people use to stereotype the protesters as rich spoiled brats and/or completely dismiss out of hand their protest.. Slogans are used to reduce the need for facts and/or reality, and short-circuit debate by presuming a whole bunch of shit.

For once I agree with(the devastatingly handsome) WheelieP

Are you as turned on, as I am?
