No disrespect here fellow Canadians we have enough starving children and homeless people on our streets in our country that’s all you hear in the news that’s all you see on TV. Holy fuck! Maybe these poor bastards should buy, borrow steal a boat, or build a raft paddle out to sea where the Coast Guard can see them and or wash back ashore. This fucking ridiculous, I am in no way Prejudice, Bias or Racist. The way people open their doors give what they don’t have to those who flee their own countries it’s disgusting when we walk by or step on our own children going hungry freezing in their on homes and homeless lying on the streets. Let’s give more food, clothing and build more shelters for the homeless that we already have. We all look so great and precious in the media running around for the cameras. Take a look around instead of making yourself look good. —Strawdog

  1. I’m willing to bet you did a pretty good job of ignoring our own homeless and poverty stricken up until the point that our P.M. announced that he would open our generous doors and wallets to 25,000 dark skinned”furriners” who happen to believe in a quasi religious/cultural dogma dedicated to our destruction? How about it Sport, am I in the ballpark?
No matter. I’m sure that Mr. Peepants, the inebriated SGR hobo is glad you have his back, now.

  2. The difference is choice. Whether the choice is their own or not doesn’t matter. Those who are homeless are dealing with mental health issues, addiction, or personal crisis. The welcoming of 25,000 come-from-aways are fleeing a war zone. Most of them are well educated and will contribute to our society. On the other hand, the homeless will drain more resources than any refugee every would.

  3. Canada’s foreign aid budget is ~$5 billion a year. Has been for some time. Funny how these opinions only show up when people come to our country. I don’t assume you’re a racist, and yes you are bias, but we all are. I just assume you’re not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Next time we send money to a country hit by any disaster, natural or manmade, will you stick to your opinion?

  4. I have no problem with foreigners resettling in Canada, but we really do have to look at our own internal and domestic policies. Otherwise, some of the poor immigrants – with no fault of their own – will definitely turn to crime to survive.

  5. Poprah it would be easier to take you seriously if you didn’t add the “treat like royalty” past, which is clearly not true. Care to elaborate on how we are biting off more financial responsibility than we can chew? How does the cost of resettling refugees here compare to funding refugee camps? Are there not long term benefits, both financially and socially, for Canada?

You talk of social impact, here are some positives:
    – Toronto proudly states it is the most multicultural city in the world
    – It is known that a more diverse group will come up with better solutions to problems than a more uniform group
    – Many places in this country need to grow their population, immigration helps that
    – Positive experiences here can help alleviate the bad reputation the west has in some middle east countries

  6. I’m not allowed to have an opinion, so by that fact alone your baseless arguments win by default, TASB. There was nothing wrong with my post, I did not insult anyone, I did not talk off topic, the only thing I said was that we should be taking great care how we proceed from this point forward but I now realise that I am wrong, I have always been wrong and will continue to be wrong. I have just graduated from The Coast’s School of PC Sensitivity and am now paying penance for all the atrocities I have committed against everyone who does have a voice. My voice has been silenced, i have been assimilated. I now see the error in my ways and will be giving the refugees handjobs and my access codes for my bank card. There is nothing more important than everyone having the same opinion, so please The Coast, you have my email address so you can email me what my opinion will be.

  7. I’m sorry you feel like a victim of my opinion of your opinion. Maybe I could have been nicer about the royalty thing. I made no reference to the political correctness of your post, I merely posted some facts that I consider when forming my opinion. I’m happy to listen to other facts that may support yours.

  8. I think Poprah is feeling the sting of being silenced by the larger force whose-name-shall-not-be-spoken…

    Welcome to the club P!

  9. Denez, you’re right, people never used to care about homeless, but you miss the point. People care now more than before not because of these refugees, rather because the economy is tanking, oil is done, unemployment is high, 80’s all over again. In a previous economy people wouldn’t have even noticed these refugees, or our homeless. People complain only when their own situation is going under, it’s sad but true.

  10. Holy fuck buddy, you played the “I’m not a racist but….” card! I thought that only happened on TV. Too funny!

  11. We need to be cautious and learn from France, Britain, and Germany. Bring in refugees but do it right. The Dauphin seems to be making it up as he goes.

  12. It’s true Denez, it’s really true, immigrants and refugees rule the world. If you can;t win, join in.

  13. I hear ya op. This is why i have no respect for the new comers. They get treated better than our own. Makes me sick when i see that happen. Always have been aware of the homeless problem here but i cannot afford to help them out. I barily get by myself as is. If i could afford to help i would help our own not the new comers. They got way to many free hand outs they do no deserve unless the homeless are going to get those handouts too.

Watch and see this reply will suddenly be gone because i would rather see our own be taken care of like that.

  14. No resources are being taken away from welfare to accommodate 25000 fellow human beings. In a few years most of those 25000 people will be job working tax paying citizens. You want money for the poor? Tax large corporations and end all subsidizes to companies whose executives make more than 6 figures a year. Poor desperate people are not our enemies just because they’re different. One final thing, I know OP didn’t bring it up, but i must state, if you’re a person whose afraid of people that are different than you. You might as well curl up in a ball and die. the terrorists have already beaten you.

  15. No, they were going to take away military members single quarters to accommodate them, until it hit the papers and an uproar occurred. The money is being borrowed along with billions more that the taxpayer will be on the hook for.

  16. DDG your not even in the parking lot Sport, if you think for a second dark skinned furriners as you put it are not included with Mr. peepants and inebriated hobos with your inhumane attitude you missed the point completely. Obviously you should go see TSB with the tool box and sharpner!
