My partner broke some bones in his foot. He had to go to the Dickson Bldg. for x-rays, THEN has to go to the QEII where he had to struggle down a long, long hallway to the cast room with his walker. We sat right in front of the room where they do casts, watched the doors open and close for three hours, each time with about a half dozen people milling around inside, doing fuck all but yakking. Meanwhile, the waiting room is full of aching people and some dumb bitch comes out to announce that we are to be divided into two groups, neither of which my partner fit in. Instead, they sent out another doctor who said that she couldn’t put on a cast because of blood clots so she said she’d make an appointment with the ortho guy to see it in a few days. This procedure of getting an app’t. took over an hour. By the time we got out of there (for fuck all), we had been there a total of 7 hours. Well, sounds like there’s some lazy-fucking-arse health care system employees… it’s like that at the blood collection clinic too.
“What the fuck is going on with this lazy-fucking-arse health care system?” – OB has clearly never worked in a Hospital before. There is certainly nothing ‘lazy’ about filling a hospital staff’s shoes.
Why the Dickson building for x-rays? You HAD to go there? Why? Wouldn’t one just go to the QEII in the first place? Boggled here but not broken.
Dickson Building
The Dickson Building houses many of the QEII’s patient clinics and services, including the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre on the main level. It is the province’s only comprehensive adult cancer treatment facility.
What gives? Why not just go to the Infmary as it has a heliport and your partner could have been flown in and taken immediately to the proper diagnostic team to be treated and sent the fuck home.
I’ll chime in on this. If they went to the Dickson to Diagnostic Imaging, it was probably on referral, not from the Emergency Department.
Completely agrees with the Captain!
I hear you OP…went to QE2 for almost 7 hours one night for piece of metal in my eye….told me there were people with more serious injuries. Gotta love triage.
How is it that the size of the object that is being sucked is in any way related to how much the actual thing that sucks, sucks?
My elbow’s been sore for about a month now any time I clench a fist or grab anything.
Even lifting a glass causes pain.
Ya think I’m going to get it checked out?
FUCK NO… and this is why.
it’s probably just a slightly torn ligament or tendon or something.
I’m not wasting hours of my time on that.
It’ll heal.
I hope the PC win so the public health care system can be sold to a private corporation like NSP was.
