For a bunch of people all claiming to want the same things in life you bitches are awfully hard to see eye-to-eye with. You say you want to make a decent wage, have affordable housing, eat healthy diets, have access to health care, have access to booze, buses, bridges and bitches and each and every one of you claim you want to get on well with your neighbors. Nova Scotia gets a big F in the effort arena. You fucks are the meanest and most hard-headed, pig-headed, racist Canadians out there. Open your eyes and LEARN how to be neighborly! GET A CLUE already!

  1. I prefer to think there’s a problem with you, and not the hundreds of thousands of Nova Scotians. Better odds.

  2. Thanks for painting us with your sour brush. If you travelled this province to any extent you would realize there’s a whole lot of genuinely nice people out there. Yes, you will get the ignorant hillbillies but you’ll also get people who will go the extra mile for others. Just look at the efforts that were made by the fishermen who picked up the remains of Swiss Air and gave comfort to the families of the victims. So don’t shit on Bluenosers, buddy boy, when the chips are down we’ve been there. Besides, assholes know no country – they’re fucking everywhere.

  3. Geez, who pissed in your cornflakes? Although there may be little to no opportunity here, the people are the amongst the best. Change will happen, just eventually, and not overnight.

  4. don’t worry, people here are cool, just leave the city, go to the valley, or cape breton.

  5. cptstubing: the valley? hahahahahahaha. Are you kidding me? I spent my teen/university years there and…most are weird as fuck and A LOT are spiteful and mean.

Halifax, on the whole, has some of the nicest people I’ve seen anywhere. And that’s from working with the public in both places. I worked in new minas and people were just miserable there, but in Halifax most of my customers were fabulous.

Oddly, Ontario has a rep for being a bunch of assholes, but my time spent in Ottawa was pretty fantastic. I don’t remember one person really being a huge jerk. I think the way people treat you is a reflection of how you treat them. Perhaps YOU are the problem, OP? Perhaps you exude such pissiness that people around here just don’t want to deal with your stank attitude? I mean, I’m nice to others, very outgoing and friendly, and even in Toronto I found everyone I’ve come across friendly, helpful and nice. Same with Halifax, in general.

Maybe you should try improving YOUR attitude, OP and then see how people in NS treat you. You might be surprised.

  6. You want weird, drive out the Digby Neck all the way. Weee-ooo. I think it’s just some odd microcosm culture clash or something. Everyone’s nice, and I spent my childhood banging around rural(haha which part isn’t) Queen’s County, so I think it’s just being removed from the familiar landscape that does it.

  7. Dino… about independence… in one sense you’re right but in another you’re dead wrong. There is strength in numbers. We are naturally social creatures. Ever notice what happens when a community gets behind an individual?

It seems to me the HRM is full of nice people only when you yourself are beautiful and not “creepy” or different. Only when you don’t need for nor ask for anything… As long as you don’t try and talk to a stranger the HRM is a wonderful place to be (independent).

Sounds like the OP has been “painted with a sour brush” one too many times, doesn’t it? None of you “oh-so-friendly” bitches should be surprised.

  8. There are a lot of arrogant Nova Scotians. The whole “friendly” thing is overrated and just not true. But there are nice people, too, just like there are nice people in Toronto.

  9. I suggest a little wander through Europe in August. How about a cup of ‘Welcome to France, now Fuck off’. The water is cold here but the people are warm.

Thinking you just had a bad day?

  10. You would think that as Canadians we should all just be damn thankful for where we live..whether or not it is in a little town or a big city, we are pretty lucky for all that we have here. It always amazes me how some are so quick to generalize an entire province based on one or two incidents most likely..take a look in the mirror before judging others..smile at a stranger, hold the door open for someone..stop complaining about the little petty things..maybe then we could all be a bit more appreciative and a little less defensive, because in the end we are all Canadians!

  11. When I first moved here from out of province I did think everyone here was nicer partly because they told me they were. Cuz you guys think you are therefore you are. Then I found out that when Nova Scotians find out your from another province your immediately judged. I try to ignore comments that just create divisions. Pointless, unless you want to create divisions. We are all the fuck’n same. Assholes are everywhere.
Just so you know TTFN one of the first things I found out after moving here and lived in Terrance Bay for 6 months was that some of those Fishermen that were helping the Swiss Air “clean up” were fucking stealing the victums personal items. Like I said there are assholes everywhere, Nova Scotians are no exception. I do love this Province and most of the people.

  12. Jesus H. on a handglider, #@%$, it’s positively sickening to hear that people can act like vultures during a tragedy. What a bunch of hard motherfuckers.

  13. #@%$ – Oh so easy to say those things isn’t it. But proof, aye, that’s a different matter.

    But,but,but, you’ll sputter I know it is true because……

    Nice try, Troll.

  14. Well ML, your right I don’t know it’s true for sure, I wasn’t there. Suppose you think OJ is innocent too. Heard it from a neighbour who lived there the time it happened. The point here is that criminals, assholes are everywhere. I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a community would not lend a helping hand should a disaster hit their area aaaand… there will always be that small percentage of people that will take advantage of someones elses misfortune too. It’s human nature. You are correct I don’t have proof but do you really think that not one single person scavaging didn’t pocket anything…really c’mon.

  15. yorkke… funny you think the racist thing was thrown in as maybe an after-thought.. check CBC head line news today, black firemen are suing for racist behavior within their own ranks. If the firemen behave like racist pigs why do you think it so far fetched that a newcomer to the province wouldn’t pick up on this right away?

  16. Yep, just because whites arent in the minority, we must be racist.

I hope I never have to live in Toronto.

  17. Comments and merit of the OPs post aside – I just laughed. A lot.

But I stand by my philosophy of “if youre nice to people, most people will be nice to you”.
