NS Power is the worst company I have ever had business with. I am from NB..and the power company there FAR exceeds NS Power. I don’t understand how they can be so powerless in even mild conditions. Whenever a storm comes into town, we can pretty much expect mass chaos & long power outages everywhere. WHYYYYYY are they so incapable???

My power bill for the past 2 months is $1167.00. This is absurd. Every light in our house is an energy efficient lightbulb, and we’ve been very easy on the heat & lights to try to save money. (isn’t everyone nowadays?)
NS power.. you are VULTURES!!!

  1. You’re paying over a thousand dollars each month on electricity, and you haven’t realized that it’s a meter error or an billing error?

  2. That is definitely an error. Dispute that charge, sir, unless they’re tacking on a deposit and didn’t advise you (which has happened before), which isn’t out of the question if you’re a new resident.

  3. It’s not an error. I called. The charge is for 2 months, not one. This is the largest bill we’ve ever recieved. ( it’s not a new residence)

I think it’s having people over for the holidays, extra showers & laundry. It’s a bit of a bigger house, but we haven’t even been heating the downstairs.

    Crazyness…

  4. It’s one of three things, billing error, meter error, or someone is stealing power. I’d definitely get it investigated.

  5. had a similar problem with nspower….average two month usage was around 145…its an apartment with heat included in the rent. my december bill was 580 dollars. i near puked. now i know its not 1167 but when the bill that immediately preceeded it was 149 to go to 580 was a shock.

nsp reread the meter, reading was right. the explaination given to me was that i must have had company over. so now my landlord is having an electrician come in to figure out what happened.

  6. I’m an electrician. Check your last bill it should have a meter reading on it and check your last bill. Your meter may have rolled over all the numbers and they are trying to fuck you. OR YOU ARE RUNNING A GROW OP

  7. unless you are one of their “guaranteed-return shareholders”, you are being bent over and gang-raped like every other person in the province. We’ve been rate-increased every year for how long? Time for a rate FREEZE for the same amount of time. Let’s get some stability here… no 1% more for the 100 M+ profit making companies in these hard times.

That isn’t even to mention the rest of the shite.
With Oil going up over the past couple years, how many times has rent increased? or price to fill your tank? (both home and mobile)
home-owners, how many times has your land tax jumped?
    and bread/milk/food in general?
not to mention companies are trying to save money so (I don’t know about you all but) raises are pretty scarce these days. They can’t even help keep up with inflation. You can only stretch a dollar so far or pinch your penny so hard.
