Dear Creeper,
I get that we were on the dance floor at the Jenocide release party, and for Gus’s the floor was PACKED. But I had only met 2 hours prior to this transaction, and was made entirely uncomfortable. All the other strangers on the dance floor didnt feel the need to follow by your example. DO not bump and grind on a strange girls hips. When she takes a dramatic step away from you, do not move in closer yet again. Do not rub her shoulders and her back, especially if she freezes up and looks as though she is resisting the urge to throw up. And if she walks away from you mid sentance it probably means you’ve crossed every other line and the only way she can get through to you, short of kicking you in the face, is to walk away from you repeatedly.
You made what was supposed to be a fun night out, more than a little uncomfortable. Next time, just chill the fuck out and stop acting like a desperate puppy.

Sounds like this ‘Creeper’ got a little lost on his way to the Dome. Since when was Gus’s a good place to pick up girls anyway? It obviously isn’t. I’m surprised security didn’t pounce on that guy, and it might not have been a bad idea for you to let them know either, if you didn’t.
On the plus side, it looks like someone has a bit of a crush on you…
In all seroiusness, that does suck though. Sorry that there are some guys who take things a bit too far.
Was he dressed like the guy in the ad?
The guy in the ad? The mime wearing the hardhat in the “silencedoesntworkhere.ca” ad at the top? That’d definitely be a bit creepy.
Some guys are just stupid. Even if they’re being told off they take it as some form of “attention” and they somehow believe that the attention is good and they should “continue the pursuit”.
Not saying its right or even attempting to justify some creeps at all. Just saying that’s how some guys interpret situations and continue to make asses of themselves.
Next time get a bouncer, OP. Or a firm, assertive, “FUCK OFF, LOSER!” will work.
Just thought of another possibility OP: maybe this guy thought you were trying to do the Helen Keller by talking with your hips, but mis-translated.
Hey, how come a bunch of posts have a ‘comments are closed’ shut down on them? Does this happen often?
It only seems to be some of the more controversial topics that have been closed to comments. That’s my guess. You can probably continue discussion here if you want (until Tim catches on).
But, it is the usual sexist, insensitive, name calling stuff. Hmm…maybe he had to step out and can’t monitor the naughty children until he gets back.
I closed two comment threads because people were essentially advocating rape. I pulled those comments, and you all can discuss something else for a while. Yea, censorship, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
Censorship! Freedom of speech! Nazi!
Just kidding, you do what you gotta do, except when you delete my posts. Besides, as I pointed out in another thread, A. Canada doesn’t truly have free speech for various reasons, and B. The Coast is a private company that can post and delete what it wants (within the limits of the law, of course). Isn’t it also true that The Coast could be held liable if it leaves hateful, racist, violent, and/or defamatory language posted on its website even if it’s posted by others?
I appreciate the explanation, Tim. It (combined with the shut down) sends a much firmer message. Thank you for your sensitivity.

I had to pull a non-bitch related comment Friday, for exactly that reason: defamation. I’m in the process of verifying the information, and if true, will repost it.
But you see, I can only do that when it rises to a level of giving a shit about it. If I had to vet every potentially libelous comment, I’d have no time for anything else. Then there’s just the matter of our arbitrary sense of decency. I try not to tread too heavily on comments- really!– but when I do, well, I do.
People dance at Gus’s? And you can actually dance to the music of a band that calls itself Jenocide? I’m thunderstruck.
OP, sometimes people get drunk when they go to bars. It impairs their judgement. That, coupled with the darkness and loud music leads to situations like the one you found yourself in. Just tell a bouncer next time.
Almost went home with the closing act! That’s pretty hot!
ps who are you
I was wondering how long it would take before you found this. Same B&W striped shirt both nights, short black hair with a trashtastic blond streak. Also you crashed at my place in ottawa while touring with the Crimson Tides
Was Desi playing?
The name and then the comment later on made me laugh.
A lot.
I would’ve went home with him, too.
