To the person who stole my brand new black jacket tonight from the Pogue – YOU SUCK!! What a cruel thing to do!! And my keys were in the pocket… thanks a lot a$$hole.
P.S. Karma is a bitch.
—Would never steal YOUR jacket.
This article appears in May 14-20, 2009.

“Karma is a bitch.” Very original.
It’s your own fault for leaving your shit lying around in a bar. That’s what you get for leaving your stuff unattended while you get shit-faced and skank it up on the dance floor.
Karma’s a bitch!
they never had a jacket for you to steal why do you think they wanted yours.
Wow, you folks are mean. Someone had the gall to take something that didn’t belong to them – that’s the issue here. Have a little compassion. I’m an honest person that wouldn’t steal your jacket, no matter where you left it.
Boo hoo…
You should know better than to leave your jacket laying around at the pouge. No one is ever really thinking when they’re drunk, and probably thought it was a good idea to take your jacket. Next time keep your jacket with you.
Also, will you people stop with the karma is a bitch thing…. it’s getting kind of old.
You are responsible for the safety of your jacket. You should leave NOTHING of value in the pockets. Despite your own honesty, there are plenty of thieves around and you really shouldn’t be so trusting. Next time, sit on the fucking thing and if you have to get up, bring it with you. I hope you got a valuable lesson out of all this. Signed, Your Mother
To the topic starter:
Just keep in mind that 99% of these anonymous internet champions responding to your post have never had anything, been anything and are bitter about EVERYTHING because of it.
Sorry you had your jacket stolen.
I hate it when people use “Karma” like they actually know what the concept means. Its not a revenge tool, kids. And I know it sounds cool to say, but if you do not understand the fundamentals of Karma’s energies you look twice as stupid as you already sound.
I had my bicycle helmet stolen because I left it somewhere, thinking it would be there when I got back. I was wrong. I didn’t piss and whine about it, I took responsibility and didn’t let it happen again. Sorry man, but it’s your responsibility to take care of things that are valuable to you.
P.S. NGF – Yeah. OP, here’s the definition of ‘Karma’, “n.
(in Hinduism and Buddhism) the sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.
• informal destiny or fate, following as effect from cause.
Next time I recommend: ‘What Goes Around Comes Around’
Dino! That is exactly what I tell people when they start to talk about Karma. Or whenever someone says, “Karma’s a bitch,” I make a remark about, “They won’t have to worry about that until their next life…” The person never knows what I’m talking about.
Another one of my favourites is: “Karma is a beautiful energy – far from being a bitch. And since you referred to it as a bitch, I’m almost certain that its going to come back and bite you in the ass (in your next lifetime).”
Again, they’re usually clueless and just figure that it is merely, “What goes around comes around.”
“Karma’s a Bitch” probably isn’t the right thing to say here… more along the line of, “If by some chance I find out who you are and run into you, I’ll beat you up – provided you’re not much bigger and/or stronger than I am”
There is no such thing as Karma. I wish people would stop believing in fairy tales and myths. It would be nice if the person who stole the jacket had something bad happen to them too (like somebody stealing their underwear), but there’s no “mystical energy” that’s going to ensure it happens.
some of us believe everything in the world has its own energy, and you obviously didn’t read the definition of karma above.
energy doesn’t ensure anything happens, the actions of people do, every action has a reaction, such as the OP being upset about a stolen jacket.
Woooo… got my keys & jacket back!!! 🙂
Really? How’d that happen?
Must’ve been that karma stuff again.
East Coast… were you expecting us all to reply as you have? yeah, that makes for a great read.

LOL @ zZz
If your mind is big enough to swallow the concept of karma then why would you think this “balance” is exerted only in the so-called “next” life? Do you think the universe goes “out of balance” while you live and only does it’s checks and balances once you’ve finished? Do you really think the universe revolves around you? I would think the universe would continue to flow in balance as is necessary whether or not you, my hopeful bitch, are dead or alive. Whether it happens in this life or the next what comes around, indeed, goes around or, if you prefer, karma can be a real bitch. Fight about semantics all you want.
Oh, sorry your jacket was stolen, OP. Betchya won’t let that happen again.
It’s not the belief that the world revolves around you that karma is a part of, it is the belief that the universe is in unity.
Angel, I’m a big believer in “karma” as a result of what I’ve learned about string theory rather than religion, Buddhism, and what have you… I fail to understand why people would think karma is exerted only in “the next life”. One must think themselves pretty important to presume universal energy is balanced by the birth, death or life path of human beings.
@ Dino Jr – I went back the next day and it was behind the bar, half inside out. So I’m not sure exactly what happened, but seeing as it was half inside out I’m assuming someone tried it on and it either didn’t fit or they realized they took the wrong jacket and ditched it somewhere and the cleaners found it. Either way, I’m really happy (and really lucky!) that I got it back!
You guys are all getting to philosophical for me! Haha I get the general gist of Karma, and after reading the definition posted, I still don’t think it was entirely misused here. But I’m no expert on the subject, so I’ll leave it for you guys to figure out.
Have a great long weekend folks 🙂
The thief sucks…and The Pogue sucks too
Was your jacket fleece? There’s a PSSST written about a person who accidentally took someones jacket. Apparently they both left their jackets (under the bar? I think thats what it said) in the same place, and upon leaving the person grabbed one that didnt belong to them.
They were looking for someone to email them about it so that they could give it back.
You all hate the world too much… go read some LTWWL or the PSSST section would ya. Just one or two pages.
You deserve to have your stuff stolen for going to the Pogue anyway. What a dickhead convention that place is.
