scones or stones, depends on who is making them. i have had some terrible shit in my day, from places that were noted for making the best. if that was so, then what i got, should have been trashed.
Start your own scone shop or make your own, OP. In case you just noticed, the world doesn’t rollerblade around you.
nice clue in the title, i don’t need to guess
Scones are easy to make at home, even a dummy like me can do it.
First come, first serve BITCH.
I’m half tempted to go early one morning and buy em all…. pile them on the table in the corner and munch away, watching all the morose, sconeless people skulk away with shattered hopes and dreams.
hahaha, i can picture it. make loud groaning noises and proclaim that you bought too many and will have to take them home and feed them to your cats…then skip away
AHAHA zed. That is probably the BEST bitch comment ever.
OB: why should this particular coffee shop make MORE product that they may take a loss on (because ‘writing something off’ on a daily basis doesn’t exactly make good business sense) just because you can’t get your lazy arse up and over there earlier?
oh, I’d be reveling in it…
proclaiming how amazing they are and that everyone walking in should get one…
ask if they do and then smash one to bits in front of them as they extend their wanton arms…
finish by wiping my hands and face with the last one and throwing it away like trash.
not a huge fan of the scone, easy to make, not that great
They should make less and charge more. Basic economics says they can maximize their profit margins.
Scones are awesome! Second Cup makes amazing scones, esp the cherry ones. Mmm!
harper’s trying to make me go broke proving a point here…
even if he does actually make sense.
(ps, the point is I would be an asshole like that if provoked enough)
lol fuck yo scones!!
That was hilarious Zed. Got a good chuckle out of that one.
That said, if they continually run out, there’s demand. Wouldn’t they maximize their profits if they made a few more?
BTW, how’s the back Paingirl?
but they’re so dry.
i have a back, thanks for asking critter guy. scones used to be much smaller
glad yer cured, Painey. I have an old back injury, and I have felt your pain.
I make scones all the time and keep them in the freezer so I can have one every day. Victor, you’re right, they are easy to make. I mix the butter in the food processor with flour, sugar, then fold in eggs, milk and whatever. I like to bake with frozen blueberries-they don’t turn the batter blue and are perfect when the scone is done. I like to add flax meal and oat bran to add a little fibre to the otherwise nutritionally light pastry.
What I really miss from Halifax are the oatcakes. I tried to make my own, but talk about dry—chokecakes was more like it! I tried dipping then in dark chocolate, but the chocolate was lumpy so I added brandy to thin it out…now they are dry and boozy tasting!
I like my buttered scons for tea.
