WTF is wrong with ex wives? I am a second wife, I personally did not know my own father but that’s another story. The kids will never call unless they need something. Has your Dad every missed a birthday, Christmas, child support payment? NO! He is not perfect, but neither is your mother! He divorced her not you kids! His door has always been open to all of you, not like you ever come through it! You are no longer kids and have to make your own choices, and maybe you will be divorced parents yourself hope the exes don’t poison your kids! It will be too late some day, you should know he loves you all:)

This bitch sounds like my dad…divorced dads get a really bad rap. Thanks to all the deadbeat dads out there. My dad never missed a support payment, and we often went without to he could make said payments.
I have a lot of sympathies for you, OP. My mom’s a second wife like you are and you two could probably compare similar stories.
It’s hard when an ex poisons the kids. Mine did. But they grew up and we have a really good relationship and one kid hasn’t talked their mother in about a year or more and the other one rarely does. I guess they will learn what’s what on their own. Anyways good luck and have lots of patience. It’s not easy.
I’ve been in your position, OP, many years ago and I learned to let the father and kids work it out for themselves. Stay out of it – support your hub-unit and be his shoulder to cry on if it truly bothers him. Offer your opinion but not to his kids. Otherwise you’re asking for major headaches.
Just sayin’.
Good Advice TTFN. Especially if you already have a situation where the mom is turning the kids against the dad. I’m sure mommy dearest will be twice as nasty when it comes to her opinion about “daddy’s slut wife”.
The kids will figure out what’s what on their own time. Be patient and be loving.
My step dad went through that with his exwife, and only biological daughter. His ex told her so many horrible things about him (1, that weren’t true, and 2, at ten years old wouldn’t have been any of her business to hear, even if they WERE true) and eventually his daughter stopped coming over and even talking to him at all. She’s now an adult with a child of her own, and they still don’t talk, I think it’s so sad.
that sounds like my dads girlfriend lol
TTFN’s advice is bang on. That’s what my mom did — stayed out of it. When dad’s ex ever tried to bring her into things she’d just tell her she didn’t wish to get involved. But she never discouraged dad to have a relationship with his other two kids. I have a few extended family members who’s step mothers were more like step monsters and pretty much make it difficult for a relationship to exist between them and their fathers. It’s a shame really.
My parents both went off the deep end during their 5 year separation and eventual divorce although they’re pretty much back to normal now.
As an adult whose parents both involved my sister and I in their broken relationship, I think all Moms and Dads who do this to their children are completely off their rockers. Kids don’t need to know the nasty details.
Divorced dads are awesome1
my dad is TOTALY one up on my mother
I love being the cool parent. LOL.
