Not # 1 in my books!
I’m a day student who has to take a bus from my house and then transfer at Scotia square to catch the #1 bus just to get to class and though not all of the drivers are guilty of this, there are a sadistic few that will purposely make my trip harder, whe

Yay! Another bus bitch!
Complain to the metro transit people not to us! Maybe someone will do something about it. Just a thought.
wow, 15 whole minutes. gee.perhaps you should consider taking an earlier bus knowing your transfer schedule is tight or try and make one of the other busses that go to scotia square to universities? Sometimes if I miss my transfer I have to wait an hour, usually 30 minutes, which sucks but that’s the way life is when you take the bus, so suck it up, princess. If the bus isn’t leaving early, then MT’s going to do NOTHING about it. If it is (which I suspect it isn’t) they’ll probably tell you to sodd off. Why? because maybe people on the bus have places to go and need to make other transfers/get to work on time and why should they have to wait for you? I’ve been on busses that left late because they were waiting for “runners” or late busses and I’ve missed further transfers and been late to work because of it. Why should I have to be late and miss my transfers because of you? I’m sure others who managed to make the bus on time would say the same thing. It’s called mass transit, my friend.
hey pretty kitty, just because you like going theough life as a martyr doesn’t mean the rest of us have ‘take it’. Some of us like to speak up and get shit sorted. It doesn’t seem like a totally outlandish request for someone to ask MT if they could perhaps have a bus wait an extra 2 minutes for people transfering.
If the buses waited an extra 2 minutes for the OP to make the transfer then what do you do about the people who just miss the delayed bus? Do you make it wait another 2 mintutes for them, maybe another 2 minutes for the next group of people. Maybe the only real answer is to have the bus sit there all fucking day so that no one ever misses it.
I’m confused. This place is for people to bitch to let off some steam yet when they do, they get tons of criticism for it. Yeah, there are lots of metro bitches. But who’s forcing you to read them? You can pass over them and not comment. And as easy and simple as it is to WAIT 15 minutes or take an earlier bus, sometimes it’s not quite that simple. Or if you already have a tight schedule that is completely regulated but, for whatever reason, once in awhile that regular schedule is thrown off because a bus leaves earlier than scheduled. Wouldn’t that piss you off too? Some of you act as if waiting for the next bus isn’t a big deal. No, it’s not but it is an inconvenience that is a temporary piss-off, enough to complain about online at least.
If the bus waits “2 extra minutes” for you, who’s to say *I* and others on that bus who managed to GET to that bus on time won’t miss OUR transfers down the road? Maybe we’ve already been waiting 15 minutes because we missed the last one? I don’t really see how those of us who make the bus on time have to suffer because someone can’t get their schedule straight. If your schedule is THAT tight, make some alterations. Metro Transit has a bus schedule for a reason, and they didn’t just pull it out of their asses either.
also, to themax: we’re not talking about the bus taking off early. in all likelihood, the bus is leaving on time or who knows, maybe it’s running late too…my bus left lacewood 7 minutes early this morning and I was late for work because I had to wait an extra 30 minutes for another one…. that sucked ass, and if this is the case for the OP, my sympathies, but I’m pretty sure we’re not talking about an early departure here. OP would PROBABLY even get my sympathies if the 1 only ran every half hour…but it runs every FIFTEEN MINUTES; ten during rush hour so…and there are other busses that run to the universities from scotia square…it’s pretty easy to just hop one of those too.Oh and Can’t smell the salt: sure you can blow steam off here, but if the OPs can, so can the commenters 😛
Kitty, I wasn’t really blowing off steam. I was just trying to make the same point as you I think. That MT has the schedule for a reason, and that if they bend for one group of people it could be an inconvienence for another. Because of this they have timings, and they stick to it. You shouldn’t be expecting favors from the drivers because that favour could affect other people and not neccesarily in a positive manner. At the end of the day that’s all these bus bitches ever are, “inconvienences”. All are minor and petty issues that can be very easily fixed, tolerated and/or ignored.
I’m sorry, can’t smell the salt — I mixed your post up with the max 😛 My bad. I think I need a better pair of glasses. Anyway I wholeheartedly agree with your post! Please accept my apologies!
aaawwwwww….. you guys should “cyber-hug”!
Cyber hugging is just a gateway expression of affection.
