Wanna know what’s irritating as hell? Coming to work every day to be solicited while you’re trying to do your job.
I work for a fairly large company who employs roughly 300 people. On a daily basis, someone is making his/her rounds throughout the building, asking if you’d like donate money to _____ charity. How about a ticket for little Johnny’s softball team? Chocolate bars for Sally’s school campaign? Girl guide cookies? Pies? Avon? Tupperware? Fucking TEALIGHT CANDLES? Jesus fucking christ people. This is a place of business. It’s bad enough that I can’t walk from my car into the grocery store without being harassed for money, but at work? I donate money to charities when I can, and once in awhile I will part with a few dollars to support these organizations, but I come here to fucking MAKE money, not spend it. If I gave money for everything you people are trying to sell, I’d actually be PAYING to work here. —Putting a ‘Do Not Solicit’ Sign in Front of My Cube

you have two choices o.p., give or not give. as to your place of employ, they should have a do not solicite sign on their wall.
Make up a No Soliciting sign and post it. A person could go broke just coming to work nowadays. Hands are out everywhere. Makes it tough!
I admit, the constant chiselling is aggranoying but what Blow says.
You would think that a company that size would have some sort of policy against wasting company time. Maybe a food drive or a specific corporate sponsored charity event would be acceptable but, fuck off with your chocolate bars, 50/50 draw tickets, and other stupid fund raising bullshit. Guilt tripping the people you work with every day for your kids bullshit fundraiser is disrespectful. It’s your kids job to funraise, not yours. Teach your dumbass, lazy kid to take care of their own shit.
Steve I hear ya.
I agree with SHITTY — it’s their kids’ job to do the fundraise, not their parents.
And it’s always the same ones hitting you up for money for one reason or the other — and instead of just asking once and leaving it at that THEY KEEP ASKING YOU OVER AND OVER BY SENDING STUPID ASS REMINDERS. If I wasn’t interested in the first place, what makes you think I’m interested a week before the deadline? Two days before the deadline? The day of the deadline?
Now that the xmas season is upon us (like it or not), it’s going to get a whole lot worse.
Too many parents do too much for their children which results in children who grow up to be fucking ingrates.
