I took two reels of film into that place where they transfer movies and such and not only did the owner jack my price up (at pickup time) by HUNDREDS of dollars but he refused to give me my precious family films back until I paid. This is piracy and sleazery in action. Totally disgusted and will never do business at this shop again. Rip off artist !!! —No deal at all

  1. What was his excuse for the price jack up, OB?

He can’t hold your personal property for you – he doesn’t own your originals. He owns the copies he made, until you pay….

Businesses who operate like this should be reported to the BBB.

Beyond that (and the bad word of mouth) – it sucks because there’s not much you can do.

Any clues as to who this prick is?

  2. I’d be interest to know who it is as well and as Breakfast Sandwich said – He doesn’t own the originals, only the work he did on the copies. He can’t hold your originals ransom, only the copies. This situation sucks, to be honest.

  3. …and yes, you should notify the BBB. Then others can be aware of this guy’s business practices.

  4. My solution would be a brick through his window… but you shouldn’t listen to an internet troll like me… cameras will get you or something.

  5. Ask him if you might use his telephone. Dial 911. Do not leave until a police report is made. Then punch his head.

  6. Does this place have three capitals C’s in it’s name? Yeah, that place is operated by idiots.

  7. How many people check with the BBB before having film developed or re-formatted?

The BBB is also completely fucking useless.
