What are they doing at that Braemar grocery store? They are “renovating” and have primed over the nice murals that surround the outside walls. Why oh why? I love those grocery store murals, they make each one unique to its neighbourhood. Don’t people appreciate art anymore? —Babette

It’s being converted into the lower version of itself….no perks, no frills.
it’s callled regressive progress o.p., and yes, it sucks big donkey nuts. they have fucked up something that would add a bit of charactor, for some glitzy type of electronic trash.

sebastian are you sure it’s being converted to a no frills? I didn’t think braemar was on the list… it’s in a nice enough area that I don’t think a no frills would fit in.
What I’m secretly hoping for is an expanded NSLC instead of the tiny wine outlet they currently have.
Nope, it,s definatly not a no frills,they are renovating alot of those stores to a newer concept,the only frills store is over in Spry town.
Nope,it,s definatly NOT No Frills,most of the stores are being renovated to a newer concept and they involve different color schemes check out the one near the new farmers market their murals are gone as well,the only No Frills in Metro is Sprytown.
I loved the murals too at more store…it was really sad to see them go…no it’s all white and blah!
Will be the same as Barrington Street where the murals were painted over and now you have large bland signs such as ‘Produce’ and ‘ Meat’.

One of the smaller Atlantic Superstores in my town has already gone through the transformation others are talking about, the huge colored signs with small letters, another one has changed into a No Frills. But I believe it is only happening to the smaller ones, the bigger ones are going to be changed from Superstore to Loblaw(s?), and undergo a different transformation. All just rumor of course, but I have my sources.
Somebody justifying a paycheck again. Also it is a lot cheaper to pay a sign shop to do 18 alike than 18 different.
Hopefully the new design includes MORE OPEN CASHES
