It is the week before Christmas. If you were too stupid to shop before now, don’t give me shit because a bunch of other people got to the Christmas lights before you. I don’t order the stuff, and no, I *can’t* explain why we don’t have any left (except that you’re shopping for them THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS!

Working retail during the Christmas rush is the reason why I cannot stand Christmas, or even celebrate it anymore. People are the worst at this time of year. Try telling the fat momma bear that little insolent Jimmy can’t have his Wii this year because they’re out of stock. It’s your fault that Nintendo didn’t manufacture enough units to meet a massive demand.
Shop online. Avoid local.
I gotta say that I think the worst thing about shopping during the holidays is when I go to the drug store to buy a stick of antiperspirant, and end up standing in line for 30 minutes because everyone ahead of me is frantically scooping up cards, decorations, giftware, bath supplies (does anyone else get a years worth of bath supplies every christmas?), candy and god knows what else. But maybe it’s my fault for waiting until a week before Christmas…
I don’t even work in retail and I’m convinced people suck extra hard this time of year. I did all my shopping last week and as much as I love the mall, I wanted to put my foot up various asses during the 2+ hours I was at the mall.
Those who work in retail this time of year have my deepest sympathies. I worked in grocery as a cashier this time last year and…ugh. I did the xmas eve closing shift and people actually came in 5 minutes before closing and grabbed a cart (!) and then bitched me out for not having the right kind of turkeys left! At 30 minutes past closing they were still shopping! Fuck sakes what is WRONG with people?

y’all are crazy, I love shopping in the busy mall with people frantic and overloaded, etc…
It’s the one time of year I can get lost in the crowds, mellow out and stroll without having an attendant from every store help me try to ‘find something’.

I’m 100% on the side of the OP here. Been there and done that. Deep down inside I just wanted to tell the customer to fuck off. Next year I just might take a part time job to be able to do that.
go to the dollar stores, they have tons for a buck a pack, cheaper than buying one large long set.saves about 5 bucks.
Definitely buy decorations early. Wait till the last shopping day to buy clothes, jewelery, etc. They’re all 50 – 60 % off. Contrary to popular belief, some stores do hold back stock for the last minute (day) rush.
Just wondering – if all these “retail/service workers” got another jhob – who the hell is gopnna serve us ? I’d think about telling to get another job for the fear you all may have to serve yourselves and have noone to tell to get another job and feel all high and mighty? Just wondering !!!!!!
