My, all the negativlty on this site lately.
That said, I’ve known several of these people in my lifetime. Always “between jobs” and have everything figured out. My latest skirmish with Einstein is concerning flouride and it’s possible health effects. Yes flouride is a carcinagen but the dosage that lab rats are subjected to is thousands of times higher than any human would ingest to get tumors in four out of ten specimens. On the flip side, tooth decay does have dentrimental health effects not just confined to the mouth. He won’t allow his family to drink tap water but buys regular toothpaste which, my guess, is higher in flouride than tap water.
I didn’t bother to mention the ongoing cripple cracks, because of how you’ve dealth with it. I do find them to be very tasteless.
As someone who has very slight physical problems which are completely outside of my control in how they happened. It doesn’t stop me from doing all I can to enjoy what mobility I still have & enjoy all of life I have left & count my lucky stars that it isn’t/wasn’t worse… because there are many many others in far worse places than I am.
Though my injuries were very serious, I look at it the same way you do. My gf and I just got back from Nfld for a couple concerts and some driving and exploring down the coast. As “disabled” as I am, I realize how able I am and how full my life is despite the chair.
Our friend Gary thinks cripple-baiting me is effective, but I know someone like him always has to reduce it to the One Thing. If I was a jew, he would hammer that, and so on.
I feel exactly the same as when you said ” I count my lucky stars it wasn’t worse too”. After 21 years I think it’s human nature to do it, to help us feel optimistic.
