To the dumb who left a note on our car written on a napkin. Yes there were two dogs in the car and yes the window was only open a little and the sun was shining. If you had any brains you would realize its the middle of Feb in nova scotia, temperature at the time was hovering around 1 degree. The dogs were not overheating as you suggested and if you knew my dogs you would also know their tongues are always hanging out as is the case with most dogs. We have six animals at home non of them have ever suffered at our hands, we foster animals for the SPCA and never had any negative feedback. If you have nothing better to do than go around leaving useless notes on car windows then I feel sorry for you that you don’t have a life. As for my dogs they have a very good life and will continue to do so for many more years. —A real animal lover

Hardly an idiot, unless they were hairless wonders like greyhounds or something they would be just fine. Though I do have blankets in the car for mine.(no, not a greyhound)

Hahaha. You people are funny. I grew up on a farm where all the animals lived in a barn with no heat or insulation. Not one of them had a blanket just a bed of straw. Not one of them died from the cold. Animals can live quite well in cold temperatures. It’s the wind and wetness that kills them.
The temperature was not too cold for dogs with plenty of fur. As Cranky said unless they are hairless or very little haired dogs then in 1 degree weather they should be fine. It’s when the temperatures are well into the negative like -10 and below I’d say, and then factor in any wind chill because that will make a difference also.
How long in the car? 4 hours or 4 minutes? Outside Costco or outside a bakery? Line of site or line up of 10 customers with shopping carts? I need more info before I can properly judge!
