  1. Awesome bitch! I’ve been having to get my CODCO fix on Youtube, and it just doesn’t cut it. When last CBC reran the show, I taped a bunch of them on VHS but got rid of them when I got rid of my VCR.

  2. never heard of that one, though I suppose if you can get ‘Martin’ on DVD, this should be available as well….

  3. CBC should have followed BBC’s (and ABC’s for that matter) lead years ago and opened up stores that sell their shows on DVD – then they might not have had to downsize as much this past year. I want my Beachcombers & Littlest Hobo boxsets!

  4. MJ, totally! Either that or gone the way of PBS, do funding drives with DVDs of classic shows as incentives towards a minimum donation of say $50 or $100. I’d definitely donate to the CBC if it meant I got DVDs of Danger Bay, the Edison Twins, Friendly Giant, etc.

  5. The CBC is even bad at putting out current shows on DVD too. How costly can it be these days to take something already recorded and move it to another digital medium? Even if they just made the shows available for digital download on their website that would be a low cost alternative and provide some revenue for them.

  6. I used to do the ordering for a shop that carried educational videos. The catalogues also had a section for other specialty stuff, so I ordered myself a sweet early years 22minutes/codco box set…but this was AGES ago, and was VHS. The point I’m aiming at, is that you can ask some places to do special orders. If it’s available, they can order it.
