To everyone who uses the bus and enjoys listening to music: turn your music the fuck down to a reasonable volume! I should not be able to hear your music coming out of your head phones OVER the music that I am listening to, at a volume that will not make me deaf in 5 years. When I can make out every word of the shitty song that you are listening to, that’s too loud. Turn it the fuck down, asshole! —Fellow Busrider

not everyone can afford headphones that allow you to hear your own music AND not have it come out the sides.
You gonna buy us all logitech ultimate ears? Need my address?
My favourites are the ones who sing, and often badly, then you got to crank up your own to drown out them, vicious circle I guess
It’s public transit. If you tell me I can’t play my music loud enough for you to hear then I can say don’t speak loud enough for me to hear. It sucks but that’s how it goes. If someone politely asks me to turn it down, I will, I have before. It’s hard to hear the music loud enough to enjoy it over the bus engine noises, especially if you sit in the back.

What I hate is those people that talk so loud that anyone and everyone on the bus can hear their conversation. And you know they WANT everyone to hear. It’s usually students talking about how smart and wonderful they are or someone talking about another person they don’t like. I realize it’s public transit but there just seems to be a lot of people on it that have no shame.
Actually, in-ear ear buds work well for not having your music blast out for everyone to hear word-for-word. And they’re great for noise canceling. You can get a pair of sony ones for under 20 bucks these days.
The ones I use are *awesome.* They were $60 but I got them half price a few month ago. I’m VERY picky about my sound and I wouldn’t use anything but these (unless I had the money to drop on a pair of in-ear Bose ear buds, which I don’t :P).
OP, you get what you pay for. Don’t like the shitty service and those minions you share the poor people bus with, then buy or lease a car. Anyone with a decent career can easily do so.
what really pisses me off, is the fucking morons, who think everyone else wants to hear the shit that they rot their flea brains with. yeah, i know, here we go with all today’s music haters shit too.wrongo, i like some of the stuff out today, just not at concert hall volumne as i’m trying to sleep, relax on a bus after a hard day, doing my thing. or even just fucking watching television or a video in my home.
i have a hearing problem in my left eat, do to a bullit wound from years back, but holy fuck, i can still hear you a block away.and we won’t even go there with those crappy little shitbox cars, with the stereo, that cost ten times as much as their heap of junk.toodle-oo.
yeah really, I’d much rather hear the beat coming from your headphones than someone’s random personal stories/business.
Yeah earbuds are sooo expensive at the dollar store. Where is Mr Spock when you need him.
Nickleback and REO Speedwagon not done justice when listened to at anything less than full volume.
NB and RSW?!?!
Do they belong in the same sentence?
Lol
Hear Hear!!! I completely agree with this bitch.
Come on people, not everyone has the same taste in music as you do, nor are they on the bus for the same reasosn. I work nights, and travel to and from work by bus, so I’m likely to either want to rest from a hard night of work or get my mind ready for a hard night of work. I don’t want to bombarded by your music.
Just the other night, the bus driver stopped the bus because another passenger at the back of the bus was playing his music loud enough to annoy the driver, and yes that was with earphones on. THink about this one, how do you hear if your music is loud enough for the driver to hear it over the drone of the bus’s Deisel Engine. Come on.
“What I hate is those people that talk so loud that anyone and everyone on the bus can hear their conversation. “
I specifically take a later bus than needed because of this ‘clique’ of people who take the back half of the bus and prattle on every day about useless trite I really detest listening to. My eyes can’t quite roll that much every day without permanent damage.
I hate that shitty, tiny ipod but man do I miss it.
fuckers are just too easy to lose. again.
not everybody can wear earbuds. I can’t wear earbuds because they cause a buildup of wax which causes SERIOUS problems for me.
Plus dollar store earbuds aren’t soundproof. So much sound leaks out of those that you can hear the s’s in the lyrics.
and i hate to be the one to say it but i’m with sebastian on this. You don’t like sharing your space with other people and their habits? Get a car.
A lady told me a few weeks ago on the bus that “she didn’t like the sound of my voice” as i talked on my cell phone. And i told her the same thing, tacked onto the end of “I don’t like your scowly, bitter old face but that’s the shit you put up with when you take the bus”, called her an entitled old reptile and walked off to sit with people who weren’t so judgmental and spoiled.
No offense OP because i agree.. the loud (and usually bad) music is annoying. But it’s not called the proletariat chariot because you have any special rights or privileges. It’s called that because it’s for all the unwashed masses who either cannot or will not suffer the expense of private transportation.
I’m with I_K on this one. It’s public. Get a cab if you want to relax in peace, or some real headphones:

Or ask.. POLITELY, not entitled-ly, makes a big difference because guess what, they have every right to play their music, just as those douchefuck kids have every right to talk about a bunch of shit that nobody wants to hear about. Free. Fucking. Country. Shout out to WP
I don’t give ashit about ‘sss sss sss sss’ coming from soneone’s ears. OP, you are a bitch.
