For the people on the bus who like to sit on the outside row of seats while the bus is crowded… for god sakes just move in a little bit, is the window really that bad?

I just feel bad for the people that are standing up when there’s a seat on the other side of you that remains empty because you don’t want to move closer to the window… and I don’t think people really feel like crawling over you just to get a seat. —Cheesy Cookie

  1. yes, playing pedestrian pole-vault on a moving bus is discouraged.
To avoid it in this event, one needs to sack/ovary up and use their pie-hole to ululate sounds to express your feelings….

    ie. SAY SOMETHING

  2. They don’t do it because they don’t like the window, they do it because they don’t like to sit next to other people. They don’t want to have to acknowledge or speak to anyone else on the bus, so they try to block other people from sitting down next to them. Usually these people are either socially insecure teenagers or adults who haven’t grown out of the social insecurities they had as a teenager. They rely on other peoples’ insecurities about confronting strangers.

Thus, the best way to deal with these people is to really loudly ask them to move over so everyone hears, and looks at them. This makes them really uncomfortable and is therefore entertaining. They always move without looking at you or saying a word and shrink down into their seat. The best part is forcing them to say something to you by pretending you didn’t see/hear them ring the bell… because it also makes them uncomfortable and is therefore funny. Maybe I’m a dick for doing that, but they piss me off so much…

Same applies for people who put purses on the seats, they are exactly the same they just use a purse instead. Although you can’t hold the purse people hostage in quite the same way, what a pity.

  3. I’m with Snoop in that it seems a person has to say something to people in order to get what should be easily available. The entitlement factor of these people who grab 2 seats is astounding. I usually say “I’ll take the window seat if you don’t want it”. They usually slide over fast. Have sometimes tried humour saying – “oh, I have the boarding pass for the window seat”, but getting wary of that these days with the number of Looney Tunes types wandering the city now. And I am getting as bad I guess as I do not bother with an “excuse me” when having to leapfrog around them. Same with the ones that block exit doors, esp. when there are seats available. Though that has all been mentioned here before. Metro Cattle Cars is what MT has become. Sheesh!

  4. Tell then to move the fuck in or just step over them. Self-entitled fucks need the reality check sometime. I’ve done it before, would do it again, and probably will. If you got a problem with it go stand then.

  5. I don’t like people sitting beside me, but I will move over if the bus is busy. I don’t want to get stabbed or shot if someone has a gun in their pocket and it goes off automatically. Also I would not like my phone to get stolen by old drunk people, I always have my mp3 player in, and if you don’t look like that kind of person I want beside me, I will ignore you. I paid for the bus ride, I get to enjoy the way I want to.

  6. There was a typical tramp on the #52 bus today. She sat sideways taking up 3 seats in the front of the bus. A couple with their little girl got on, and you think that bitch would move? She just ignored them, playing on her fucking phone/camera/lifeline.
    Fuck I hate public transit.
And the majority of the people on it.
Well, that’s not fair. I just hate about every person that gets on the #52.

  7. Even me, BWN? 🙁

I take the 52 to work every day and…FML.

The BEST pwn ever I saw on the 52 regarding asswipes who won’t move their ass over was this skinny bitch. It was about 10000000 degrees out — middle of summer. she sat blocking the window seat so no one would sit there and this REALLY fat chick got on in gym clothes (obv just been to the gym) who was sweating her ass off and there was nowhere to sit so she CLIMBED over the skinny bitch and plopped her ass down in the seat. The skinny bitch look so disgusted she got up and moved.

    It was GREAT!

In any event just say to one of these turds “mind if I get in there?” Most are, like an above poster mentioned, so socially insecure that they’re probably not going to confront you or say “no”/”scram”/etc…

Oh hay — anyone else hear about the bomb threat on the bus today? It was a bus that goes down joseph howe — perhaps the 52?

  8. ECHO64, really???!!!! You fucking social tard! You got some serious issues upstairs. I think WE should be the ones afraid to sit next to you. Oh, and by the way…move the fuck over!!

  9. ECHO64- you’re an asshole. You pay to get ONE SEAT on the bus, not two. What the fuck gives you the right to judge people based on the way they look? Someone has to be good or attractive enough in your opinion just to get to sit next to you? That’s the most ridiculous, self-entitled, arrogant, bitchiest thing I’ve ever read. Ok, wel maybe not the most, but still… you’re an asshole. I hope a big, fat, smelly, sweaty man comes and sits next to you with one ass cheak on your leg.

  10. I did this the other day – got on the bus, empty seat (albeit with a kit bag on it) next to angst ridden teen. Asked him kindly and loudly “can you move your bag please”. He did. no harm no foul. I don’t stand on the bus unless absolutely necessary and it ain’t necessary for me to stand so someone doesn’t have to have their purse/kitbag on their lap.

excuse me, pardon me, please, thank you. most people will respond if you ask. if they refuse, then call the driver over.

  11. ok, I hate the short buses now… what the fuck were they thinking?
yeah, the seats are comfy… IF you get one.
standing on those things…. with a big, hulking frame and my head dangerously close to the ceiling… not fun.

  12. I feel sorry for someone who can not say “excuse me”
I feel sorry for people who are so sensitive they are offended on others behalfs.
I stand on the bus because it is a more comfortable position from which to pass gas. Spare me your offense.

  13. Don’t Ralph’s dancers practice pole dancing on those buses?

I wonder how often they disinfect the buses. Students should do a germ-culture study on them.
