Ok, enough bitching about bikes. Y’know what grinds my gears? Asshats on those electric scooter/Vespa-wannabees. They aren’t licensed but people drive them in traffic like legit motorized vehicles… when it’s convenient. At least with licensed motorized fare you have to pass a test.
I just watched some moron pull all the way through an intersection to the point where they were almost to the oncoming traffics side of the intersection (they were in a left turning lane) to the point where vehicles coming towards them couldn’t proceed to the centre of the intersection to make a left turn. When it was safe to turn left they scooted onto the sidewalk via the crosswalk and motored down the sidewalk. The province/city is going to have to deal with these fuckers eventually… —Cranky

There’s a plan in the works…
http://content6.flixster.com/question/42/6…
They aren’t licensed? Really? I thought they counted as motorcycles…
As far as I’m concerned, if it is being ridden or driven (car, bike, scooter) on the road it needs to have a licence plate so it can be identified.
I love those electric bikes.
They have pedals like a regular bike & are assisted by an electric motor.
I don’t believe they should be licensed.
Big Brothers got his damn hand so far into our pockets now….I see no reason to make any changes.
IF anything the whole licensing bullshit for regular cars is a scam.
I can see being charged to register your vehicle. But why do I get charged to do it again in 2 years ?
I haven’t moved, I haven’t sold it…nothing at all has changed, yet I have to pay again to register…my already registered car ?????
IT a fucking scam, double, triple quadruple taxes .
& Bro Tim is right up the Gov’s ass with his need to identify crap comment.
Why not start the movement Bro Tim to get a license plate bolted on eveyones ass !
That way we are all immediately identifiable ! !
The way so many people want to be mommy coddled & have no problem paying more & more for less & less or in many cases (like reregistering an already registered vehicle) something already paid for.
I agree with BroTim, all vehicles on the road should have a goddamn identifying plate. A few days ago, some fucktard on a bike cuts right in front of me on Brunswick to go in the left lane, doesn’t stop at the stop sign (around the Metro Center). Then the lights at Brunswick/Duke turn red when the bike is 3 cars back of the stop line. Does the bike stop? Nope, keeps going, making a left turn onto Rainnie, cars who had the green had to stop because of this fucktard. Who knows WTF she did after that.
I could have ran them over, but with the new law in place I’m sure I’d have had a $400 ticket for clearly not giving them a 1 meter berth…
Had this person had a plate, I’d have jotted it down and reported it, same as the bikes can do if I don’t follow the new rules.
and some people bitch about atv’s. yup, these same ones that whine and cry, are those ninnies that have ever ridden one, or even been close to them.
smart cars are just atv’s with a body, and my atv can go faster in fourth tho. they will want to start inspecting them, by next year end, and then watch the roads. if they are licensed, insured and inspected, they are road worthy, and will be used thusly. government fucking idiots.

It is deeply ingrained in us that we are a “car culture”. We recoil in horror at the idea of that changing.
But change it will. I wonder what a litre of gas will sell for at this time next year?
-I also hate these moped fucks. Theres a reason you are required to pass a test and have a license to ride a motorcycle. These twits are clueless.
-I would fucking LOVE riding my ATV to work downtown.
Us scooter drivers aren’t too fond of some car drivers either.
I know my scooter (125cc) is a motorcycle by law and I drive as such, but I tell you, #1 the e-bikes give everyone a bad name, motorcyclists and bicyclists and #2 alot of drivers tend to force there way into my lane while I’m directly beside them! And it isn’t a blind spot issue either when they intentionally look at you. A bit of respect for us law abiders please. And signals are law dammit!
Ok, dome my rant.
i don’t think these are street legal but they’re cool http://www.gastonracing.com/images/DuneBug…
Scooter, I drive a bike similar to the one in the link. –

I’ve had people try to kill me too, but only one intentionally. Fire Engine red, running lights, and an unintentionally loud exhaust; it’s like I’m in stealth mode, people just don’t see/hear me comming.
So get used to it, and keep your head on a swivel. Maybe carry some bolts in your pocket for those close encounters.
veloce – is the bike working yet?
Same goes for those bastard skateboarders.
these should be illegal^^ http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BDysdKuiN_0/Sq6m…
A litre of gas will proboly go for around 2 dollars next year i did the math as long as it stays under 7.50 a litre ill be fine, not that worried about it i only spend 30 dollars a month on gas now so.
wilcox1232,
You must drive a very fuel efficient means of transport (motorcycle or scooter). Good on ya.
It’s those deep-pocketed drivers married to their gas-guzzling SUVs who have chosen their own particular hell. But they have my sympathy. I’ve always thought an SUV, minus the wheels, would make a good raised garden bed for veggies.
Comandante, if one can afford the price and the insurance for an SUV, I don’t think they are too worried about the price of gas.
2010 Outback, insurance less than $700/yr, mileage 8.2l/100km.
Translation – less than $100 more for insurance than an ’02 Grand Prix, geater fuel economy, and better emission control.
Hugo, it’s a Subaru, ’nuff said. LOL. I think Commandte is talking about those in the big bad Hummer zone.
Actually, Bro Tim, I know a fair number of people who drive SUVs and the price of gas is one of their main complaints these days. Most of them also hope for the price of fuel to go back down. You might not call it “worry” but I’d guess most SUV drivers are acutely aware of the doubling of their fuel costs in the last ten years.
I’ll grant you that folks with a seven figure net worth probably don’t worry too much about the cost of a fill up, but there are an awful lot of SUV owners out there who don’t even have a six figure net worth (or salary) who are seeing their disposable income drained away by increasing fuel costs and don’t like it.
To have an SUV driver complain about a 2% increase in the provincial sales tax doesn’t carry much weight with me when they’ve willingly put up with a 100% increase in the cost of fuel for their pride and joy.
Yes Hugo, I’m talking about the big road hogs, not the urban runabouts. The Hummer, of course, is dead and gone.
i actually drive a 2005 toyota echo but its great on gas and just puttering around to work and shopping doing the actual speed limit doesnt really burn any gas
lol – just being a shit disturber guys 😉
Now my Chrysler, on the other hand is a real gas-guzzler, and my HD sucks for emmissions (but I get about 50m/gal).
