Cyclists, stop driving in car lanes, especially at busy intersections.

You zip in and out of lanes without warning, as if the city owes it to you for not having bicycle lanes. It doesn’t. You just prove to the world that you’re morons for using bicycles in a city that has no bicycle lanes. Idiots.

You are on a bicycle. I am in a car. When it is bike vs car, car always wins.

Get a car!

  1. Get a car…you really need to find a better way of expressing your grief, the way you say it; it implies everyone on a bike is a moron and that none of them obey traffic laws or signal. The only thing you have accomplished is a Love the way you Bitch post war between car drivers and bike riders, there is no possible way this is going to be productive. Besides…I think most of us are tired of hearing the same bitch over and over, yes there is not enough legal and physical accommodation provided to bikes in this city, yes drivers in cars can be very: inattentive, aggressive YADDA YADDA YADDA. Everybody lets change this cycle (no pun intended) here…instead of posting here, write a letter to your MLA and ask for an improvement in this situation by updating the Drivers Handbook and the appropriate laws to specifically reference what rights and rules Bikes have on the roads. Oh and also ask that these changes be ENFORCEABLE by the hard working and under-valued Halifax-Regional-Municipality Police.

  2. This is in response to the “Morons and bicycles” entry and the not so rational advice for cyclists to “Get a car!” Not everyone owns a car, nor do they want to. Not everyone can afford it. It’s not always a cyclist’s choice to be riding a bike in freezing winter weather but it might be their only option. Some do it for the environment. That being said, I understand that there ARE a lot of morons on bikes out there. I’ve witnessed it (while riding my bike)—waiting at the lights, doing what I can to stay out of the way of traffic when along comes bozo riding his bike over the crosswalk only to crowd out the pedestrians on the sidewalk, changing lanes whenever they feel, sometimes even biking the wrong way down a street! I have nothing against cyclists riding in traffic—but please do it right. Use your hand signals—if you don’t know them- LEARN THEM. Obey the traffic laws and stop making the rest of look bad.
