You were the asshole driving yesterday afternoon on Bayers Rd. I was the one who wanted to hit you after you followed two other cars into a left hand turn from Joseph Howe on a red light (the first car made it on the yellow, you and the car in front of you are stupid). You weren’t even close, actually, to making the light. I think it was red for close to ten seconds…all of us coming straight across the intersection waited for you. Then, you take the little merge onto the section of Bayers that the 102 feeds into, without a blinker for the first part, and I see you are yaking away on your cell phone. Ok, well…whatever. THEN, being the fucking idiot you clearly are, you attempt to merge (again, without a blinker) INTO a huge fucking car carrier coming off the highway. He was going pretty fast, and instead of waiting to move in after him, you tried to pass him and cut him off! The whole scene ended with you slamming on your brakes (and him too, to avoid your stupid ass!) and being forced onto the merge lane to Bayers in the other direction. I hope you shit yourself after coming so close to being creamed. Dumb ass. I also witnessed THREE other near accidents in the short drive from Fairview to Quinpool. I shudder to imagine what will happen once the snow starts to fly again.

Has anyone ever been to another city and thought “wow, people here drive really well”? I just assumed that people were stupid a-holes everywhere.
I used to think Halifax was great, until I moved here. But I grew up in Yarmouth. Anything is better than that. Calgary had its moments. Toronto isn’t bad, but if you don’t know your way around, you easily get run down. lol
to answer your question Katie yes….ive fortunately and unfortunately been all over the world driving. Worst and by FAR most dangerous, was Egypt. until i came back to halifax. Toronto city drivers are all insane but they are all insane in the exact same manner. there arent too many surprises and thus you can travel with relative safety. Quebec, they are all insane but again, all exactly the same insane when they drive so there is no surprises. IN HALIFAX…you never know what anyone is gonna pull at any given time. except whenever there is a two right or left turn lanes, you know the asshole beside you is gonna try and slam his car through you to get to the lane they want, whether they know they cant or not. other than that, Halifax is as dangerous for drivers as my experiences in Egypt. they had no care of life or limb in that country….same goes for the drivers in Nova Scotia by the looks of it.
I can’t see ANY comparison with the odd bad (usually a chick, or student) Halifax driver, and the twice-a-day pickup truck rodeo that occurs on the Deerfoot 500 – OR the Toronto-based “assembly of 200-nations-behind-the-wheel”, each having learned to drive on either the wrong side of the road, too fast, too slow, with traffic lights, without traffic lights, stop for cow, go for pedestrian, slow for avalanche, speed up for mud-slide, turn right on red, not turn right on red, stop to show papers, run from police….or not at all….
Halifax is a milk-run compared to those other cities…which I drive all de time, ’cause I is a truck driver.

Cuja12 – comparing Halifax drivers to Egyptian drivers is dumb – using headlights on the highway at night is optional in that country. I’ve had lots of scary experiences there. Buenos Aires and Mumbai can be pretty nerve wracking too. As for Canada, when it snows in Vancouver – look out!

Murder, i took a bus to the Unknown Soldiers Memorial in Egypt, and the bus driver said “dont open your eyes until we stop” and i didnt. And all i could think when i got back to halifax, was ….DONT OPEN YOUR EYES TILL YOU STOP. Funny how i didnt feel terrified when i was in Quebec, Alberta, anywhere in the US(except maybe Shenectady County) OR BIG BAD ONTARIO. But even my wife, who grew up and has been driving in halifax for years HATES drivers in halifax, and had no problem driving in Ontario. So explain to me how its dumb comparing all the places to where ive been and how bad the drivers are in Nova Scotia?
