This is an apology/call for more flashing crosswalk lights. To the pedestrian crossing on North Street last night in the rain: I am very sorry that I drove through the crosswalk – I honestly did not see you starting to cross on the other side, and traffic was so backed up that I didn’t realize the cars in the other direction were stopped for you. That was my bad and I didn’t realize until I had gone through the walkway. I’m sorry. I’m usually hyper vigilant and will be extra cautious now.
This was a marked crosswalk but I really wish all marked crosswalks had flashing lights – if there are already lights on the crosswalk, wouldn’t it be easier to add some flashing lights? —Apologetic driver
