Your mouth would probably be too sore to eat anyway. But yeah, it does bother me that certain essential dental procedures should also be covered by MSI. Soon enough it will all be private healthcare anyway with the direction NS has chosen to go with the private orthopedic clinics. Say bye-bye to universal health care everyone. It was good while it lasted.
If you have Blue Cross, you can take your receipt down to the quick pay office in Scotia Square and you’ll have a cheque in your hands within two minutes. Good luck.
If you’re in alot of pain, I wonder if it’s possible for you to get the abcess part of your dilemma dealt with at the emergency. I had one on my ankle once, thanks to some cheap ankle height cowboy boots I had when I was 14, and the pain was excrutiating! I went into emergency and they fixed it there. Maybe they could do that for you since the procedure would probably be the same; they drain the abcess, give you some antiobiotics, and send you on your way. Then you could get your wisdoms out when you can afford it. Good luck!
I understand how you don’t want to have to pay for anything out of pocket, but consider yourself lucky that you were able to get into the Oral Surgery Dept. @ the VG so quickly. They’re extremely busy, but an awesome group of docotors. I have had surgery there before (Dr. Robertson), and he’s amazing. But I think they’re all amazing….
