Excuse me Sir. I understand you are concerned with motorists who drive way to fast through your neighbourhood. However; the speed limit is 80 kilometres and hour, not 40. You are entitled to drive the speed limit to prevent speeding. Driving to slow (half of limit) is also illegal. It is especially aggravating during rush hour. I was 15 minutes late for work, missed my coffee and in a bad mood because you feel the need to not only police other motorists, but also the need to change speed limits. I got your license plate number. I will report this the next time I see it. I obey the laws, I drive the speed limit. You purposely driving half the speed limit; and then flaunting you intentions on an obnoxious bumper sticker is abusive. Consider how you now differ from a speeder who has no regard for anyone’s safety? When most drivers did manage to pass you they had to step on it to make up the time. Take your road rage elsewhere and leave us motorists alone. Remember driving is a privilege not a right.

  1. I’m a moblie speed bump when I drive a la the speed limit. This guy is just a jackass and as bad as speeders at being an ass.

  2. The clown probably drives a Toyota Pious… er, Prius, too. Those self-righteous mobile speed bump types deserve to get rear-ended.

  3. One would like to run into their car on purpose. And then when they get out to exchange the insurance info. pound the living fuck out of them. Fuck I hate assholes like that.

  4. Hm… this is a bit of a tough one. The OP is right about the slowing down bit. It’s really dangerous especially going into the rotary. However, if the vehicle was having issues mechanically, he could be going slow for that and should have had his 4-ways on. My thought here as well is that if the conditions were less than ideal, the driver as every right to be driving slower. I’d hazard a guess that it may have been the latter.

  5. “Too”! Not “to.” Not “two.”

Damn kids today don’t learn shit in school. I blame their fat bus-riding parents, the ones with the strollers, smoking.

  6. Hey Tim, I think you meant to RIGHT “there parents”. Haha, anyway – that one might have been an honest typo! Although you do have a valid point.

  7. As someone with a writing/editing degree, I can empathize with your frustrations, Tim.

However, I always had decent grammar based solely on the fact that my mother constantly corrected me when I was growing up. People learn a lot more from their parents than they’re given credit for — it’s not just the crappy public school system that kids pick up stuff from. So even though I’m sure you were being facetious, it probably *is* the type of parent you described that has a lot to do with the piss poor grammar of today’s youth.

  8. lol@too.
I wish the OP would get on here and share the message of the bumper sticker, I’m actually really curious about what it said!

PS I actually just edited this post for grammar WAY more than I normally would’ve. Thanks 😛

  9. I understand my spelling and grammar may not have been ideal. I was writing this for the purpose of alleviating frustration; and too see what other people thought of this “Mobile speed bump” initiative. I believe it is a good idea, however not when it is used by people who willingly drive at half the speed limit. I am sure it is not the intended message of the bumper sticker.

Dr Fever; the road conditions at the time were normal. No ice and it happened to be fair weather. The driver had a bumper sticker indicating he was intentionally going to drive the speed limit to prevent speeding. It was rush hour, and the driver was only doing half of the speed limit.

Mole Rat: As for what the bumper sticker said; “mobile speed bump; I drive the speed limit.”

Tim, the grammar comments are petty and unnecessary. Correcting bad spelling and poor grammar is fine; insulting my parents or education is mean-spirited and unseemly. People generally come on here to vent and not to be graded on there punctuation and spelling. Maybe you should teach a class. I have no doubt you are excessively eligible to do so.

  10. There are so many ways that they’re right about how their schools are failing them, which makes this whole thing too fucking perfect and funny to believe.

    Thanks, LTWWB.

  11. Rafiki: I believe Tim was being sarcastic about the fat bus-riding parents, the ones with the strollers, smoking since that seems to be the “bitch of the day”. It basically encompasses every bitch about Metro Transit.

The people who have those annoying bumper stickers, you should give them a taste of their own medicine. Get in front of them and drive like 10 km/h. When they try to pass, you speed up. Basically block ’em and see how they feel about holding every one else up.

Now for those who bitch and complain about tailgaters, there’s an easy solution. Just pull aside and let them pass! When someone’s on my tail, I don’t bother with braking, I just move over and let them pass. Why get all pissed off and bothered? In the end, they get to go where ever they’re going, at the high rate of speed, and you get to go wherever you’re going, without someone on your tail.
