A young lady was kicked off the Metrolink bus, she used a ticket but didn’t have 50 cents. One of the gentlemen sitting next to me, pointed out to the driver that he over contributed by 50 cents and would like the lady to benefit from it. The driver said ‘No’ and blamed it on policy. Is it really policy or is he a prick? —Just Wondering

That bus driver is a jerk either way! I would have gotten up and gave the girl 50 cents. Some people are real arseholes.
I think it is more greed. MT wants all the money it can fleece from people and tell drivers exact change (if you put more too bad, no change for you!) and the extra money is MT’s. So because they see it that way they are never going to let one person “take” the extra money another had to put in to get on the bus… I suppose they have to find a way to pay for all those big raises MT management gave themselves…..
Utter jerkitude, amplified by the sense of untouchability that goes hand in hand with union self-entitlement.
They get plenty… I’ve seen several people have only a 5 when popping out to the airport and have to suck it up. She should have known better… but yeah, you would think someone(s) would chip in a quarter or two…
people suck
Prick.
And I’m done.
We’re speaking of a BUS DRIVER – someone who has no control of anything in their life other than discomfort of passengers …… minimum education, no social skills, overweight, dead-end job, no future prospects other than long-haul trucking and the hemmorhoids can make them bitchy as fuck……
I would have called the driver on this “policy” as one would have to be able to READ the policy to understand it completely and we all know these chimps can’t read … oops, I meant chumps.
Prick? yup sounds about right….
@ zzz People in general don’t suck, this time the bus driver sucked. Someone DID try to toss in a couple quarters, a gentleman pointed out that he overpaid by 50 cents so the driver should have let the girl on but NO he didn’t because he is an arsehole.
Actually, how does the driver know that the good samaritan actually did overpay by fifty cents? He can’t just take his word for it.
Yes, fifty cents doesn’t seem like much and I might have let the girl on but if that’s the policy he must conduct himself by so be it. The girl in question should make sure she has exact change next time.
IF I don’t have exact change, I tell the stranger behind me that I am paying for them as well. This works well with MetroLink because there is always a line up.
Most of the time, someone hears me, and offers to break my change for me.
It was probably Wheels. What a knob!!!!
Low self-esteem pillock.
Time for all bus drivers to have a name and number tag visible to passengers.
Absolutely! Brilliant idea Joeblow. I’d support that.
Do taxi drivers have to display their taxi license here? I haven’t taken a cab in so long, I honestly can’t remember. (I know they do in cities like Ottawa and Montreal.)
I’m with the bus driver. Do it for one, do it for all.
nope, they wouldn’t do a thing like that, would they? we all know that most transhit drivers are beautiful people.
