So I’m on the bus a little while ago, the number 10, on of MT’s busiest routes. The driver thought it would be a good idea to make a joke with one of his busdriver friends who was outside at the Sportsplex terminal in Dartmouth, and yell loud enough for everyone on the bus at 2 in the afternoon could hear him. “IT WOULDN’T BE NOTHING FOR ME TO RIP YOU’RE FUCKIN’ HEAD OFF AND SHIT DOWN YOUR THROAT!” This is an exact quote.
There were elderly ladies and children present. I took my complaint to MT with hopes that they would do something to rectify my absolute disgust. I could be arrested for uttering threats and using profanity and public if I did something like this and this guy is a) in public b) at work and c) getting paid public money. If Metro Transit gave a fifth of a flying fuck they would have gave me something for the fact that I was made to listen to this dirtball get paid my tax dollars to curse his face off.
Do any of you out there work a job where you can get away with that? I hope not. I know I certainly couldn’t if. a customer hears me swearing I would almost certainly lose my job, or at the very least be written up, and that customer would get something for free.
I have tried to deal with Metro Transit Diplomatically and professionaly, only to be met with interrupting and uncarring call centre reps.

I had a problem with one driver whos spouse was blocking the doorway telling passengers including me to sit. I told my husband who is a MT driver and he advised me to e-mail HRM instead of phoning and I did. Two days later a supervisor e-mail me back with a response. You should do the same.
So after making this post I hope you phoned MT . . to make a complaint.

Also: those kids probably head “fuck” a million times a day. Doesn’t mean it’s cool, but c’mon, not like it’s going to shock any little kid to hear the word “fuck” — either they don’t know what it means or they’re desensitized to it. Hell, I was by the age of 2. It’s just a way of life and you can’t control the language other people use.

I don’t give a rat’s ass if your 2 or 22 , conduct yourself like a civil human being when your out in public and do me and everyone around you a favor because i sure don’t want to hear FUCK coming out of anyone’s mouth, it’s rude and offensive. And guess what I’m not an old bitty but there is a time and place for language. There’s a saying on the street about wanting and getting respect….I SAY LEARN TO SPELL IT FIRST then i’ll give it. Idiots like MT should all be fired that act this way especially while at work. And forget about the call centre, I have made multiple complaints and still waiting for a supervisor to call me …that’s been since last winter lmao.
I can think of so many better movie quotes to quote at work than this one. Your post suggests you did file a complaint, which is fine and dandy. Perhaps the driver did get written up, but because of privacy concerns, that info is not shared with the public unless the driver wants to go out bragging about it.

A guy walked out in front of the 80 on Robie by the Mazda dealership a few weeks ago. The driver screamed out, “You fucking idiot” Get off the damn road.” 2 days later, there are signs all over the buses saying MT drivers have the right to kick you off the bus for cursing. How ironic. I guess it is ok for the drivers to act like maniacs and use profanity but not us.
