I know there’s already been a few bitches about it, but I gotta get mine out.
To the people striking, personally I think you all look like children. You’re given 2 choices, choose shifts and get paid less, or don’t choose shifts and make less? What’s the problem? No other job I’ve worked let me choose shifts unless I had put time in. The choice of what you want to work should be earned not just handed out, like any other job, the mt employees already make more than airline pilots, get full benefits (based on having a union), I’ve had many buses no show for a route, and I’ve watched bus drivers take extended smoke breaks or just not leave terminals for a whole route (which I’m sure you weren’t penalized for).
The employees have it made, everyone thanks you getting off the bus and most people thank the drivers as they get on, you have an easy job you drive a bus, you needed no school only training to make a good wage, stop crying about not choosing shifts and man the fuck up like the rest of us and go back to work. No one cares that you can’t choose your shifts no one cares you will make more or less, just that you do your fuckin job (which some of you hardly even do – extended smoke breaks).
In the past 4 years some transit drivers get by doing bare minimum And this is what my money has paid for? I actually avoid taking the Metro Transit now-a-days preferring to walk from the McKay bridge area to downtown for work. We all know our transit sucks but do we have to have the drivers be a bunch of children and cry when they don’t get their way?
If the workers have such a big problem with what they do, don’t fuck it up for others, find a new job. Some of you should consider a new line of work anyway based on driving skill. —Must Be Nice to Get Paid to Sit

from what i can gather, the younger/newer drivers would like to vote again
The saddest thing about the strike was the whiner quoted in the Herald …. $100/wk strike pay would not cover his coffee and cigarettes ……. duh, no mention of food/clothing/shelter …… children? Yepppperz, they got their priorities straight, yup they sure did.
what research are you doing that says Airline pilots make less than a transit driver at MT?
http://www.willflyforfood.com/airline-pilo…
well their job IS mostly automated AND they have far less traffic to deal with…
there is that plummeting and crashing and burning alive and all that jazz to worry about though. They also have flight attendants to deal with the public so they don’t have to…
I think you’d be pretty surprised to learn how many flights throughout a day actually require 0 pilot participation apart from taxying
those numbers are skewed. major arline pilots may start out low but many of them make 6 figures. fuck that site.
Well they aren’t making that much right now, are they? They’ll be giving handjobs for coffee and smokes if they don’t get back to work soon.
“the mt employees already make more than airline pilots”
OP, you are soooooo full of crap.
ahahahaha – “They’ll be giving handjobs for coffee and smokes if they don’t get back to work soon.”
oh my god that got me
