Where the fuck does HRM get off calling it self an “employment equity employer”? Its amazing to me how the management at Metro Transit get to where they are. They have they audacity to tell me I am not a suitable bus driver because of things I only allegedly done(no proof, just rumours spread by idiots who cant mind their business). I know everything a “good” bus driver would know, which is more than I can say for most bus drivers. plus I have been very kind and helpful to bus drivers and passengers alike over the last 12 years. I am being blacklisted for things I haven’t even done because certain supervisors refuse to give me a chance. But those supervisors have been discharged from the military for misconduct, launched water balloons off the roof of Metro Transit onto the highway(while on shift), and caught shoplifting in their spear time, and they all get second and third, fourth, chances. BUT NO, My behaviour is not appropriate and I haven’t done anything to anyone and I don’t even get a first chance. WTF? HRM needs to check the definition of EQUITY. Seriously—-GET REAL

  1. Well, if you spell checked your Bitch as well as you spell checked your resume, that would explain a lot!

    What exactly is spear time???

  2. OP, you are upset that heresay was why you didn’t get the job, but then later in the bitch, what do you go out and do? That’s right, you post rumours of your own. Just a hunch, but pissing off management before you even set foot in the door is not a good way to get employed at any job.

  3. wasting their spear time shoplifting? you would think there were a mammoth on the loose they could hunt down or something…

and I don’t think ’employment equity employer’ is what you meant to say either…
    perhaps equal opportunity employer?

I can’t imagine why they didn’t just drop to their knees and beg you to take PDG’s route

  4. I want to get promoted so I can enjoy spear time. Woe will be to anyone parked in a bus stop heh heh heh…

  5. okay bubbles, tell me, how many fingers do i have up. just one, shit, you are absolutely right, fuck you and your chicken too.

  6. Clubs are for drivers, spears are for supervisors. Still, either one will knock some tail lights out 😉

  7. and the marker mustaches? are those voluntary?
or just when you’re trying to adopt a disguise to blend in before beating some inanimate object with said club?

perhaps you should choose a black marker and not purple…

  8. OP I can understand this because I was in a situation myself. Two years ago a position was going to be posted at my job… I told my supervisor that I was applying so she had the head office post the job without where the hours would be which is a violation of our collective agreement. Reason is she wanted to hire my co worker who she was seeing. He was doing the same job that I do but his was just a term. She would fill in his hours by putting the term as regular and the new position as extra hours so when she went on vacation he put in his own hours as regular and that is when the union found about it and union members showed up at work after my supervisor came back to work and a big meeting took place with her and her boyfriend. He now has 3 positions and I still have one. He rarely ever does any work and if other supervisors give him work he whines to his girlfriend. I dont know what happened in the meeting they had but both of them should have been fired. Thats unions for you.

  9. OP I forgot to mention that I had over 12 years experience for this position already while he had less than a year. Now he 3 more positions and I still have one. More positions have become available but I dont want to be humiliated again so I dont apply. When a positions becomes available the hours of work have to be there as well as the days and shifts. None of it was. Also a copy of the posting has to be faxed to the union office. It wasnt. Our timesheets are also faxed to the union office and when she went on vacation there was no one to put the hours under extra instead of regular and that is when my supervisor was caught. Picture a union not knowing about a job posting. I would have loved to been at that 4 hour meeting… now I get my own pt hours plus alot of extra. I think the union knows I will never apply for a job at that location… maybe at another location when something comes up. The supervisor is nearly 60 and he is in his early 30s. What a couple.

  10. See…this is where LTWWB provides a community service…you angrily/resentfully bitch; you hear many sides of the argument (including what you don’t want to hear (what you sometimes need to hear); you get some support for your complaint (eventually = ); and it help you to put things in perspective (hopefully = ). At the very least, you will get a laugh! LTWWB helps to keep people from going postal!

  11. Speaking of ostalpay…
PDG, you might want to NOT encourageway ashingsmay andway ashingbay otay away
    ejectray = p

  12. shouldn’t that have been ‘awayay’?
I’m no linguist but I doubt being one would help in this situation anyways…

  13. “”plus I have been very kind and helpful to bus drivers and passengers alike over the last 12 years””

huh? What does this mean? Is there like “bus driver” roadies that hang out at the depot, polish the wheels, carry the luggage?

Do people ride around “shotgun” all day and greet passengers in hopes and dreams of one day being a bus driver?

Is that a banjo I hear?

    I had no idea…

  14. Ha Ha, I was thinking the same thing, Frosty (maybe not in the roadie context)…especially since OP signed the bitch with ‘A True Bus Driver’.

  15. Isn’t it suppose to be equality ? Just wondering because equity is money into something isn’t it?

  16. Most of you are missing the jist of this story….the OP was a driver with MT for 12 years, even did some time as a supervisor himself. I know him and am familiar with his case.

  17. So did you get fired, OP, or was this just a bad evaluation?

If they have no solid proof I’m pretty sure you can put a grievance in with your union. Anyone accusing you of these things will have to be identified by a certain step in the grievance process, and if the matter doesn’t get settled you can go to arbitration and have an arbitrator decide whether or not there’s any evidence that you did what they said you did. If there isn’t, they have to hire you back if you’ve been fired or you will keep your job security.

You pay union dues for a reason, OP.

  18. I think some of you are missing the point over analizing the spelling error. it was posted by a human being remember. I,m sure you’ve all made a spelling mistake at some point in your life. And i think i know who this is about. if it is this person has been singled out be transit administrators 7 times in the last 4 years. And was arbitrarely removed from a job at transit for nothing, just because he want him there. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. You got a good case for Human Rights.
