OK, I remember the city telling us to leave our complaints at the door and not to harass the drivers when they came back after the strike. I complied with this but someone didn’t tell the drivers how to be nice. Every weekend for the past month I have had to take Metro Transit and only once was there a friendly driver. The rest of the drivers were rude, ignorant and couldn’t bother to respond to me when I said good day. Dear drivers, just because you have a union shouldn’t mean you can be rude to the public. If you don’t like your jobs, well quit! Dear Metro Transit management, it’s time you started listening to the public’s complaints especially now that ridership is down. It is very easy. Just tell your drivers to be nice to their riders. Yes, it can be as easy as that. All the advertising in the world will not keep riders if your drivers cannot be civil. —Miss Manners

how would you feel if you couldn’t just sit around, licking your balls all day?

OP – that’s the only thing that unions ARE about anymore. Hate to be the one to disillusion you. While we’re at it, you know when you leave a tooth under your pillow and in the morning, there’s money left in it’s place. That’s your parents doing that.
Sorry. >: (
I haven’t encountered a grumpy driver since the strike. Actually I’ve had nothing but nice drivers since the strike I must just be lucky. Then again I always have my kids with me and am never traveling early mornings or supper time when busses are busy and everyone is cranky. Just ignore them. You know what I do notice though when I’m in the car (not driving) and looking around everyone I see walking seems to give me the death stare like they want to jig me in the neck. No our car is not a noisy shitbox or anything just a regular car. Moral of the story, most people are just grumpy assholes.
taking a 52 to dartmouth, on a sunday used to be hell. never on time, 6-7 buses out of service. now it’s gotten even worse i fear. they never keep to their timetables, or even think of doing it. when you have to wait a fucking hour and a half, then you get over the other side, and just miss the bus you were waiting for. then you have to wait another fucking hour for this other bus. yep, transhit has come a long way. bring back the fucking old trolley coaches.
or get the fuck out of the transit business.
They are unionized, and politeness (or offering a service worth their bloated salaries and egos) wasn’t in the contract apparently, lol
dude, do you know how many damn people these bus drivers cart around daily. They don’t wanna have to talk to each and every person. They got a job to do…. better things to do than greet people and make them feel welcome and all at home n shit….you know important things – like driving n concentrating on the road to get you there safely. Don’t worry baby boy, mommy will make you your favorite dinner when you get home and you will be ok.
