The Metro Newspaper is handed to Halifax/ Dartmouth Ferry riders. Most of them seem to be recycling them on the other side of the trip! This means that all that paper, ink, etc are being used for about a ten minute read and then recycled! Maybe there should be a REUSE pile at either end of the ferry ride instead of huge blue recycle bins. This makes their “green” articles look Eco-chick. Come ON Metro!

There is, its the bin they came from. Whenever I complete reading my issue of the Metro, I put it in the nearest Metro bin instead of the garbege.
If I take one on a bus and I know it’s not the last run of the day for it, I leave it there. Guaranteed someone on the next trip picks it up and reads it. Ferry-wise, I like bad guy’s idea.
I fish out pre-read metros out of the recycling bins (so long as I don’t risk falling in to get one). The knowledge that someone’s eyes were already laid upon it does not hinder my enjoyment of the crossword puzzle.
I saw someone wear a Metro as a hat today to protect them from the rain. While I realize that using a paper to protect ones head is not unusual, usually when its done it is held over the head in an umbrella fashion. The Metro’s compact design allows it to sit on the head like a hat. Wow, the design genius that goes into the paper is incredible!
