As I walk down Spring Garden Road, I will get asked for ‘spare change’ at least half a dozen times. During the summer months, the frequency of requests increase. Being annoyed from this, I ignore them. However I have seen one panhandler in particular who displays a large sign which advertises his apparent condition of having colon cancer. I felt badly for this man and gave him some change. On the same day of my donation to him, I walked into a public washroom and witnessed this very individual shooting-up in front of the mirror. Aside from the fact that he doesn’t know how to use the lock on the bathroom door, or even how to clean up his own arm-blood off the walls, this man became angry toward me for my intrusion into this ‘public’ washroom. So at the end of the day I am confident in knowing that I have helped fund this poor man’s meth addiction.

  1. He was shooting meth? Really? What–did he tell you that? Did he say, “hey, get outta this public bathroom and let me shoot my meth in peace!” ‘Cause I’m having a hard time believing this bitch (I’m from out west, where they actually HAVE meth, and I’ve never heard of anyone shooting it). So are you just making this up as an attempt at a novel bitch about panhandlers or what?

  2. Maybe the OP doesn’t know meth from heroin or insulin, doesn’t mean the story isn’t true if they guessed wrong about the drug.

  3. I made a decision last week, to stop saying sorry for shit i didnt doespecially to not give my money to bums, it’s not that I or you can’t give them my money, it’s that we dont want toso we say “I’m sorry” or ” Sorry man, no cash on me”Sorry??? really??? fuck that, I dont need to be sorry, what did I do wrong????I hope this empowers someone else to not feel like they’ve done something wrong next time they decide not to give there money , and PLEASE dont do it becaue you “dont want it to go to a drugdealer or the liquor store”do it because you want to keep your money for you, and feel good, because you EARNED it!!!!!

  4. It’s like feeding the pigeons, they’ll keep coming back and bring more. Do not encourage them. I use to be the same way, I’d say sorry. Too bad the people that choose to be homeless/poor ruined it for the real homeless/poor. Well, in my books they ruined it.
