it may have changed to a user requested procedure, but i suspect not.
be that as it may, each person should be responsible for their own fertility and take steps to keep it under your control, not someone else’s.

I had a friend who had one kid at 19 and didn’t want any more and MSI said “no fucking way” so he had it done in Quebec at age 25 with no problem.
Also: I know a lot of family members with 1-2 kids who were snipped in the 80s/90s. I believe they were over 35, though.

Tubals require a more invasive procedure, yes, but I don’t think that’s any reason to demand your partner modify their body when they don’t want to.
If OB’s so hell bent on not using other forms of birth control and is finished having kids (or doesn’t want any to begin with), then she should take it upon herself to have the procedure done.

It was YOUR choice to have an abortion and it is his choice whether to have a vasectomy or not. People are harping they have the right to do what they want with their bodies but I guess that’s not true in your BFs case, you want control.

ok, i googled. apparently it’s up to the doctor. covered by health services but……as 40 years ago, the cma has its guidelines. if op is in her 20’s with no children and no medical issues it will be almost impossible for her to get her tubes tied. i visited some forums and read how difficult it is. if you have lots of money you could probably go to a caribbean hospital and get it done, no questions.
so that should answer anyone who thinks op should get her tubes tied. she prob would if she could.
speaking as someone who was so fecking fertile i got pregnant if he looked at me (on the pill, on implants, on condoms, foam, on copper t’s , loops and dalkan fucking cervical cancer causing shield even. …. when you are female you can get pregnant. always has been, always will be so.
the only surefire way to make sure you don’t get pregnant is to say no to sex. guys, how’d you like that? because when the rubber hits the road (or cervix) guys can still walk away from pregnancy much much easier than the woman. (individual horror stories aside – look at the global picture)

I know someone who got fixed in her early twenties. She acknowledged her complete lack of maternal urges and utter dislike of children, did something about it before an unwanted pregnancy and the options that come with it complicated her life. (applause)

Imo what she means by “fixing the little squirt” is, she had bladder control issues due to pregnancy/ies .She went ‘under the knife’ herself to have her bladder repaired.
