I’m bitching to the Canadian media for not covering what is probably the most important event since the confederation. THE AMERICAN UNION!!!!! please, please, someone grow some balls and do some REAL reporting!

  2. I am assuming this is about the conspiracy theory that there are plans for a North American Union that none of us can stop because we don’t know/don’t care about it. The media doesn’t report about it because they would lose the last thread of journalistic integrity they have in these CNN imitating-editorializing-sensationalizing days.

  3. Oh, I thought this was a rant against the United Auto Workers or something.Thing is, the powers that be don’t need an actual political union of the US and Canada, for two reasons. 1. They pretty much get everything they want already, so why bother? 2. Whatever you think of it, the US is almost exactly evenly balanced between the right-wing neocon-fundie junction on the one hand, and a centrist, pro-corporate party on the other. Everyone’s seen the map of the blue and red states; the result, even when Democrats win, is a political order that generally supports the corporate agenda (see: $700 billion bailout supported by both parties). Why upset that nice set of circumstances by throwing a bunch of Canadians into the mix?
