Again?!?
Who’s the vegan out there pissing off all these meat-eaters? Please stop.
I once had a vegan try telling me about the evils of eating meat and all that propaganda they dish out.
My response was: “The only thing that’s keeping me from killing and eating you now is that its common fact that humans taste terrible. But I can always feed you to a pack of hungry pigs.”
remember the pyramid cafe on windsor? that place was amazing.. they had a great vegan breakfast and after trying everything else on the menu i had no choice but to order it up. Im no vegan but wow what a breakfast… i miss the pyramid cafe.
Did they serve Captain Crunch with water on it instead of milk?
Hells yeah the pyramid cafe was awesome! I miss that place. They had great falafel and humus. Never tried any of their vegan choices, but their food was amazing!
Eat some chicken
psst…..Never Wrong…..both falafel and hummus are vegan 😉
psst… meOw…when you’re eating the falafel in a pita with feta cheese, and putting the hummus on your pork souvlaki, they’re not vegan anymore.
they’re still vegan, you’re just eating them with non-vegan items 😛
Gd;adjfhad. I’m so sick of vegans asserting their exclusive little lifestyle upon me too. One of these days I’m just gonna set a cabbage patch on fire.
Is it just me or does the vegetable in food not a vegan make? A vegetarian diet makes for a “vegetarian”, right? A “vegan” would abstain from animal products of any kind, not just the eatin’ kind, right? (things like soap made with animal fat, leather thongs and that sort of thing… right?)
Kay – your right on that. Mostly if you’re a vegan you’ll buy things that generally don’t contain your above list, and the products will usually say something to the effect of ‘vegan friendly’ on them.
Dino NO!!! …. think of the ‘kids’!
better try to sneak past the potatoes, they’ve got their eyes on ya… and the corn have ears.
What a perfect situation for Children of the Corn.
Thanks Dino.. you help me be a better bitch 😛
What Dino says is true…but just to clarify, there is a difference between simply eating a vegan diet and living a vegan lifestyle. Some people eat vegan diets, but don’t do so for the ethical reasons that would cause some people to abstain from all animal products, and thereby adopt a vegan lifestyle.
‘Vegan’ food just refers to any food that contains no meat or animal products.
Hmmmm, if the Pyramid Cafe was so great, why is it closed (or at least the previous posts seem to indicate)? One would think if there is such a great demand it would be making money over fist.
What do vegans taste like. What an interesting question. Maybe a bit like seal. LOL.
As far as I know, the owner of the Pyramid Cafe shut down and moved back to Egypt to be near family…
…and as for what vegans taste like, I’ve dated a couple of vegan girls, and they were delicious! 😛
I dated a vegetarian…uhm, not sure where I was going with that one…
me0w, if one doesn’t select a vegetarian diet then one could not possibly be a vegan so there is no “vegan diet” there is only a “strictly vegetarian diet” that would suit a vegan lifestyle so your “clarification” actually causes confusion, but thanks anyway.
Vegetarians have green blood.
meOw: He did move back to Egypt to be closer to family and friends. He sold the cafe to someone I know and that person completely fucked it up. It went from top quality food and service to complete crap almost overnight and then to closed. It will be missed. Also, just because something falls into the range of the vegan diet, it doesn’t make it vegan food. If that were the case, then every single food that doesn’t contain animal products would be vegan. To me vegan food is something that would not normally be, that has had substitutions made to accomodate the vegan diet.
From wikipedia:
Vegetarianism is the practice of a diet that excludes meat (including game and slaughter by-products; fish, shellfish and other sea animals; and poultry). There are several variants of the diet, some of which also exclude eggs and/or some products produced from animal labour such as dairy products and honey.
The vegan diet is a form of vegetarianism which excludes all animal products from the diet, such as meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, eggs, and honey. Those who practice veganism for ethical reasons often exclude animal products from their diet as part of a larger practice of abstaining from the use of animals for any purpose (e.g. leather, fur, etc.), often out of support for animal rights. Most vegetarians consume dairy products, and many eat eggs. Lacto-vegetarianism includes dairy products but excludes eggs, ovo-vegetarianism includes eggs but not dairy, and lacto-ovo vegetarianism includes both eggs and dairy products.
I had no idea people would be concerned about eating honey. I find that absolutely ridiculous and a waste of good honey.
kay, your prior post makes my head hurt…refer to NW’s post re: veganism vs. vegetarianism…thanks anyway.
NW, you’ll note that I used quotations marks to insinuate that ‘vegan’ food is just a silly label….again, ‘vegan’ food is just food that isn’t made from meat or animal products, so tons of food that EVERYONE eats falls into that category, if you choose to look at it from that perspective (don’t worry, eating those foods won’t make you a vegan or a hippy or anything!)
as for the ‘enslavement of the bees for honey’ thing, I find it a bit extreme myself, kind of in line with Jainism….but hey, to each their own 🙂
Dino, I thought it was Vulcans that had green blood, LOL.
The bee thing? Just shows how whacko some people are.
Gotta love that bee barf!! Throw it and some peanut butter on toast and I’m sold!!
Vegan’s wont eat marshmallows either, or Jello because of the gelatin.
Or gummi bears and jujubes….And what is a life without gummi bears and jujubes, I ask you? A very sad life indeed….
A life not worth living
i’m not a fan of Gummies I could live without them
Mmmmm, bee barf 🙂 I’ve never actually met anyone who’s a super strict vegetarian or vegan or if I have I guess they’ve kept it to themselves. I eat very little meat and people think I’m a big weirdo because of it so if I were a hardcore vegan I think I’d be as secretive as possible, haha.
