It’s a cool Friday evening, I have the house to myself for the weekend and there’s the incredible aroma of roast chicken in the house. I’m enjoying a predinner magazine and there it is again… the cough.
You live across the street and you smoke outside, but maybe you shouldn’t. That cough where you sound like you’re going to hack up a lung or two is scary. Not only is it scary (or should be to you, anyway), but it’s effing gross. It’s summer and my windows are open, but any time of day, I can hear you gagging your way through a smoke. Please stop. You have young children. If you have to rub your chest in agony everytime you inhale that vile substance, you need to stop. It’s fucking annoying to hear. Oooh get ready for the anti-anti-smoking comments you’ll get. But try working in the same office as these hackers! Euuuh I can hear the phlegm come up their throats and then they just swallow it…. *shudder*. Their bad coughs are always “due to the weather” though, lawl.
OP, don’t worry, that’s lung cancer at work and hopefully sooner than later for your smoking neighbor. Encourage them to smoke more often….heck, buy them a box of smokes as a gift and leave them in their mailbox.

Maybe you should mind your own business….they are in their yard across the street. Although you may feel like you are being a concerned neighbour I am sure they would tell you they’ve heard it all before and for you to be more concerned with yourself.
At least they’re smoking outside, and not making their kids breath the second hand smoke.
I smoked for 17 years, I quit because of two things, I started coughing up black lungers, and I watched my father die a slow, horrible death.
If you want to dance at your grandchildren’s weddings, it’s time to quit…now.

once it starts going that way, just end it quickly and easily.
