Just wanted to give a big thank you to the stunning Muslim woman (the three dots under your eyes are a lovely touch) who walked past me yesterday on Oxford Street and flashed me the most amazing smile. People don’t make enough eye contact with one another when passing on the sidewalk. The fact that you did rejuvenated my love for humanity. Whether you meant to or not, your magnificent smile made my day. — Happy Haligonian Walker

Nice OP.

I think it’s a halifax, thing, OP. A lot of none-too-friendlies around these parts. I was in the valley this weekend — I hadn’t been there in a while, or spent any amount of time there in over 6 years and I was really surprised at how friendly people were with each other. I guess I didn’t notice it when I lived there, but being away from it for a while just made me realize how friendly people can be down there (which is probably why I’m as friendly as I am — it was just the norm where I grew up :))
…that and my mom got hit on while we were in traffic in New Minas by some random guy…she had her window down and he rolled his down and started flirting. It was HILARIOUSLY awesome. heehee
But, when you’re not used to people smiling and saying hi and being all nice and stuff, it’s quite a nice little surprise 🙂
Ohmygoodness~ That was me 🙂 I was going to (or coming from) helping out at St. Andrew’s church for a community meal and was so happy to have the opportunity to help people~ WoW Thank You so much for your kind words~ I remember feeling very happy with people! People are beautiful~ Humanity: we are born to be great and amazing! 🙂
I am happy I could brighten Your day, it IS always nice to make eye contact with people and smile~ 🙂 Thank You again~ 🙂 Blessings *~
WOW… that’s so cool Omni. The fact that this was about you and that you claimed so certainly gives all the others hope that one day their love can be seen by the “object” of their affection!
^^^ HAHA. You crack me up, jonno. *vomit*….ok I’m fine now. (sorry — I’m kind of cynical these days).
Omni: that’s so awesome you got to read this! Must feel great to have that kind of affect on someone! 🙂
the universe must be balanced…..
a POX on you and all that come near you Omni
Not sure I see the humor in my post PK! I was merely making reference to the fact that each person who posts a love hopes that the person they are writing it about sees it. Omni’s comment is a testament to the fact the it’s always possible the most random of strangers may see posts that are written about them.
*sigh* I’m sorry, jonno. There WAS no humour in your post. It was more of a *facepalm* “AHAHA” on my part. And the *vomit* was for the “gives all the others hope that one day their love can be seen by the “object” of their affection!” because that shit never happens.
Like I said, I’m cynical these days and this lovey dovey crap everyone’s spewing as of late really does make me want to throw up most of the time.
You know how it is *shrug*
Agreed… people can take their lovey dovey crap and shove it up their arses. Or, since they are so in love, up the arses of their loved ones.
HAY NOW. The cynicism schtick is MY thing these days, mister. Even in jest, back. the. hell. off.
😉
welcome to the darkside Kitty,
The rules are looser here in miseryville.
You’ll like it, me thinks
*highfives,* zed.
Do YOU want to punch overly happyhappy people in the face too these days? I know I sure do.
I’m not discriminating… overly happy… happy… people that are breathing….
people that have just been stabbed in fairview and are pleading for assistance….
I’ll punch em all.
I feel ya, man. Though I have one specific punching target at the moment. Ok two. The first one makes me angrier though. Unfortunately, the passive aggressive in me refuses to actually let said person know I want to stab them and set their corpse on fire. But it’s all good.
Anyway fuck this, I gotta get some work done. Bye bitches (yes I know this is the love board but I refuse to acknowledge the existance of lovers so suck it)!
OP here.
This is hilarious.
I love Halifax. Plain and simple.
The funny thing is, Omni, I used to work at St Andrew’s (last year) and the things they don’t tell you about is amazing – I would have been happy to do community meals over there had they told me about it. I spent my reading week in New Brunswick doing just that for a church in St John.
I wish I had known about this earlier in the year.
you better be careful fore u get that nice muslim woman into some trouble
Hi there Happy Haligonian Walker!
WoW1 Small city! Thank You for Your note! It made my day I was so happy! I am intrigued you used to work at St. Andrew’s, amazing the things yOu can find around Halifax to do that are free, and that can help people~ 🙂
PS- I am not Muslim, I realize that my style of scarves around my head shares the same artistry of the Muslim Hijab. 🙂
