welll mr homie, you do somewhat have a point… However, if left unmaintained for too long, the roads here will look and feel like they do in cape breton, which can get pretty damn ridiculous! the government sinks money into fixing roads there, but they always pick the same ones over and over again, i guess theyre hoping the sea will come to claim the remnants of the rest

i understand the “left too long thing” but dude, its like april and was FREEZING one day last week and terrific today. I predict another MONSTER cold snap. Watch the pot holes then
yeah, that sorta sucks. Nothing really ya can do however. -!0 one day 7 degrees the next day? This has been the strangest year temp wise. I am shocked the city isnt 100 times worse than it is.
We seem to live in the highest taxed province yet we have the absolute worst roads in the country! We pay the most for gas, have the lowest quality produce available to the average consumer, have to pay every time we cross a bridge or leave the province…. is there some way Nova Scotian’s aren’t getting fucked?
Hey, complain some more KAY, you have among the worst roads for reasons that are beyond government control. The government has no control over thawing and freezing, the culprits that cause pot holes. Snow plows have to come or you would complain about the snow not being moved. SO take your pick and shut the F**K up about the rest, you can have awful snow removal, or you can have pot holes fixed but snow all over the roads. Take your pick
I think the OP has a point Hammie….I remember seeing the Plows, plowing the dry concrete.Hammie, do you pay for your car bills; or does your Mommy?
Ginger, what gives you the impression that i am young? And my pervious comment was to the person that replied to me. A concept that many people that complain about such a thing fail to miss.
Ginger, why do you always assume that everyone’s parents are paying their way through life?
True, the weather played a role in the road condition, but most places are simply severe lack of maintenance helped along by a bad freeze thaw. The bridge approach was shitty LAST spring and iffy at best the year before. There’s a few potholes on my street where you can see the layers of “patching” Get Mike Holmes in to do it RIGHT, ONCE!
I hate to break it to ya Kay, but by far Saskatchewan has the worst roads. They have the highest number of roads per capita. The road to my home town in SK has deteriorated so bad that for the most part it is now a gravel road. Having live in Saskatchewan all my life up until 8 months ago, I cant tell you that a) you’re right, the taxes out here are ridiculous and b) your roads are actually pretty decent. Until the weather is stable, they aren’t going to fix anything. It is common sense.
Very good point that I think people here forget about LaDeeDa. Nova Scotia also has a low population density which means more roads for fewer people. The tax dollars can only go so far so naturally some roads get ignored or fixed less frequently than they need to be.
