For the last month or so the left-most change lane on the MacDonald bridge has been closed. This means that if I’m coming down Nantucket in the left lane (faster as this is the “bridge only” lane) I am forced to merge back into the right lane to cross the bridge. This unnecessarily makes an already crappy traffic situation much worse. Anyone know why this lane has been closed for so long?
PS – The reason I don’t use the mac pass is because I prefer to minimize the amount of invisible forces sucking $ off my credit card. Also I sometimes park in a certain D-town neighborhood where people have actually stolen inspection stickers from cars.

Err, you don’t need to hook up a credit card to pay your Mac Pass. I top it up through internet banking, also, Mac Passes are put on the inside of your car. Any other lame excuses why you don’t have a Mac Pass?

Wow, that is lame kay. Actually, it’s not only lame, it makes absolutely no sense.
BRoc, I think kay was referring to the fact that the Macpass can theoretically record each time you cross the bridge, and in what direction. If I was to commit murder in Dartmouth, for example, and return to my home in Halifax, I might want to remove my Macpass from my car first so as not to provide evidence that I ventured over there at a particular hour.
You can go in and pay in person now, too.

If you don’t have a MacPass, you have no business being in the left lane on Nantucket. Get over to the right with the other road slugs and get out of the way of us who are actually moving.
