I was on my way to write my beginners, stopped to get bus tickets and on the way out of the store you stopped to pick up a penny. I commented how you were now destined for a lucky day—you promptly handed it to me and said “Now you can have a lucky day.”
Thank you! I passed the test with only one wrong answer. —Soon-To-Be-Driver With Luck

  1. unless it’s a quarter or more, I leave it right there.
If I’m cognizant that I have ‘luck’ on my side, I may be manipulated into doing things I otherwise wouldn’t do that would eventually go wrong and lead to that being an ‘unlucky’ penny. I’m not sure if that’s what’s happening….

up to a few years ago, I always picked up pennies and they always turned out to be the worst days. I even tried just picking up change if it was tails up… still didn’t work.
now it takes a quarter for me to run the risk of a bad day.

I thought of you today while walking along Windmill Rd I found a quarter.I actually saw it stopped and thought whether or not to pick it up,risking a bad day.
Well I did and had a fucking awful day.
For now on I’ll only pick up paper money and run the risk of another fucking awful day.

  3. yup… it isn’t bullshit at all.
let the hobo’s have the commoners discarded petty change…
they already have shit for luck.
