Fuckin-A right, Painuchka. I’m fond of my steak but I eat it confident in the knowledge that the animal wasn’t tortured to death by a garlicky nancy-boy in pink satin trou. VIVA EL TORO!
10 years ago the good folk @ Maxim contributed to the advacement of the species by putting out a glossy collection of the 100 Best Photos Ever. And by best what they really meant was, lurid, graphic & shocking.
#17 was a an action shot of a matador literally getting his salad tossed by a bull. Pitched into the stands with about 4 inches of left horn clearly up his Khyber Pass. The caption pretty much wrote itself:
WRECKED HIM?…NEARLY KILLED HIM.
I still giggle like a fool at the memory.
Bull fighting disgusts me. DISGUSTS ME. I am a meat eater, but bull fighting is barbaric.
i was pleasantly surprised my love was posted…i was torn between seething rage and love for the bulls
It is one of the most repugnant of human pastimes and that’s saying a lot. I believe your love and rage are shared by many. Rawk, Rawk.
i have a bull tat as well tsar ivan, maybe i’ll find a nice avatar of a big bad bull with a crow on his head
That’s a T-shirt I’d gladly wear
well ferdinand will do for now
Loved the story when i was a wean. Of course I loved “The Haunted Tank” and “Sergeant Fury and His Howling Commandos” as well.
i read ferdinand when i was about 4 and it was an epiphany that lasts to this day
PG… do you know French at all? There is a beautiful, beautiful song written/sung by French singer/songwriter Francis Cabrel called “La Corrida”. It is all about bull-fighting only sung from the perspective of the bull himself. If you are able to get a copy of it and listen I can translate the lyrics so that can put the beautiful story with the amazing melody of the song. It’s enchanting really and really nails home to point of the sport’s inhumanity.
i know enough french to get by…but i’ll check it out then let you know how long i sob^^
Nice live performance here GOP:

thanks sweet thang, i’ll check it out at home
If you are in the mood for feeling good about feeling bad give “The Last of the Great Whales” a listen. There are a couple of versions and homemade vids up on u-toob; I like “The Dubliners” version myself. When I played it for Sonofabitchova it generated a BSC (big snotty cry) on a magnitude that can usually only be produced by watching “Truly, Madly, Deeply”.
you guys sure know which buttons to push, thanks. was allan rickman in that movie…love that guy
Yes he was and you and Sonovabitchova are now officially BFFs
as long as i don’t have to wear the ribbon
I do love die hard… and though he’s amazing in dogma, I’m going with robin hood as his best movie for my buck.
he was the best thing about that movie not that kevin costner was bad…wait, yes he was
an actual, decent christian slater movie….
they do exist!
Woah buddy… you want to talk decent Christian Slater movies, you’ll be watching Quentin Tarantino’s “True Romance” with me sometime next week. Christian Slater wasn’t just decent- he shone! Thanks to Tarantino of course. Amazing movie- Tarantino’s best IMHO.
oh yeah i forgot he was in it…might have to have a viewing…russell crowe is the new man in tights, and cate blanchett as marion… i’d switch sides for her
true romance…***** and the actors that are in it a-one.
i hope the matador is dead
Crowe’s movie looks like it will be a good one! But you’ll never be able to top Prince of Thieves, what with Michael McShane playing Friar Tuck…. Morgan Freeman as Azim… Hopefully Brian Adams keeps his hands off this one though.
oops- that’s BRYAN Adams… sorry.
can’t WAIT for true romance now!
CAN wait for robin hood….
bla.
they put off the new james bond indefinitely for now until the buyout…
grrr…
sean connery was good as robin hood…hahaha i heart boobs
Robin & Marian, right? The man did his best work in the mid-70s, 3 movies back to back, that one, The Wind & the Lion and of course, best film ever made – “The Man Who Would Be King”
right on tsar ivan and he was the best bond…poor george lazenby only one bond movie, and poor emma peel dies at the end. the kilt was nice tho
Ah, the Hellfire Club episode of the Avengers; Emma as the Queen of Sin.
i wanted to be her when i was a wee lass…oh well i didn’t turn out so shabby GOHABSGO
when i was a LITTLE GIRL I WANTED TO BE HER TOO 😉
yes martym, but how do you feel about bull fighting?
no ‘poor lazenby’… it was easy to see why he couldn’t pull it off.
same with dalton.
I grew up with brosnan so he’s going to be the iconic bond to me….
have seen goldeneye no less than a hundred times.
but really… love them all, bad or good.
I’m always up for some ‘bondage’
i forget which bond movie had grace jones as the love interest…not sexy. mr. walken was the bad guy which helped
a view to a kill.. the one where he rigs horses with steroids and tries to blow up the harbour near the end.
crazy good movie and I think that’s the first black chick he gets to nail.
all i remember is that she was on top, that was probably a first as well
and without a bag over her head.
That officially qualifies as Bond’s first gay experience as well. But I believe Roger may have sampled some mocha in “Live & Let Die”
wow all these posts. for love of bull and bond…moonracker worst bond movie ever
tsar, you are indeed correct… 12 years earlier… it was the first Bond film in which 007 has a liaison with an “African black” woman, Rosie Carver, played by Gloria Hendry. This meant that when the film was released in South Africa, all Hendry’s love scenes were removed because of the apartheid policies of the South African government.
should have read up before opening my big mouth.
lazenby’s was by far the worst…
moonraker was ok. It had jaws which is awesome… and lasers and zero gravity…
i still like diamonds are forever…the last line in moonraker always sticks with me. i think he’s trying for re-entry sir…nudge nudge wink wink
.. and it had the 2nd best Bond-chick name ever, Holly Goodhead.
which movie was pussy galore in? d are f methinks
GOOOOOOLD – FinGAHHH! Wha Wha -WHAAAA. Trivia fact, Connery and Gert Frobe appeared in one other movie before this. “The Longest Day”, but they never shared a scene.
is it true that the woman who had gold paint on her body actually died? or is that an urban myth. remember the scene where connery had a spider on him but you could tell it was on a sheet of glass?
Urban myth, she survived. And yeah I remember the spider and the glass. Eminent good sense on Mr. Connery’s part, if you ask me.
i might have to get some bond movies from vid diff. i have a gift cert.
