The cops! Bless ’em. They have just taken us through the stormy waters of ridding ourselves of a noxious guttersnipe who took up residence in our house as an invited guest, then turned on us all and wouldn’t move out. It’s taken months and hundreds of wasted police time to deal with this person. The Halifax Police have been professional, kind and stalwar; there when we needed them with endless patience and have really been all-round heroes. Thanks guys. —Old Lady on Brunswick St
