Thank you too the cute guy in the white sedan on Portland street on Tuesday afternoon. I was crossing the street and you stopped to let me pass. The opposing driver however did not stop, but I was not looking and you started honking your horn to warn me. You saved me from an unpleasant trip to the ER or worse! Always approach a car with the assumption that the driver is not paying attention and may hit you. This applies to both pedestrians and drivers. I’ve been hit by a driver with whom I had made eye contact! Never assume a driver has seen you and will do the right thing.
