To the person who decided it would be a good idea to steal my black coat on Halloween from a bar: My dad bought me that coat when I was fifteen, and he passed away shortly after I turned seventeen. That coat is one of two things I own that he had given me, and now you have it! For that, I hope that every single time you wear it, horrible things happen to you from the time you even THINK about putting it on, until long after you’ve taken it off! You are a terrible, terrible person, and I’m praying Karma gets you for this one! It may not have been a very expensive coat, but the sentimental value I attached to that coat is enough to make me cry right now! —I Hope You’re Happy, You Bitch

I got a jacket too that was the last thing I ever got from my uncle’s clothing store, he closed it and died unexpectedly shortly thereafter. Some of you will say it’s just a coat, but I get it OP..
Fuckin thieves..
People, please do not get attached or sentimental over material shit……..fuck me, there are more important things in life than a coat.

I hope you get you coat back OB 🙁
Koda, “do not get attached or sentimental over material shit”, you mean like my dog, or my father’s wedding ring?
there is a guy who walks by the shop, he always wears a really kule long goth coat, hope the thief trips and hurts themselves. thanks hugo, nice to see a photo of blue, not pooping^^
See.. this is why i NEVER steal stuff i find lying around.. Because guaranteed, and knowing my luck, the item has a sad backstory behind it. Like “That arc’teryx coat was given to me in antarctica by my brother so i wouldn’t freeze to death and it was because of that coat that i lived through the night.. and then in the morning when i woke up, i tied my frozen, dead brother to a sled and then had to crawl on my hands and knees dragging his body behind me all the way to drake’s passage while angry penguins tried to suck my sweet, warm eyeball juices.”
I’m only teasing OP.. I’m sorry. It’s a sad story but the thief didn’t know your story.. if he did, i bet he wouldn’t have taken it. Remember that your dad’s memory will NEVER die, even if some asshole did steal that coat. Nobody can take that from you.
xx
*salutes*
Karma is dead. If you have something valuable, protect it, do not leave it unattended.
i met a dog yesterday, very sweet. he could read his owner’s body language perfectly. karma is a dog and i am alive http://www.gotpetsonline.com/pictures-gall…
Lolz paingirl, only one pic had Blue pooping, and that was the time he was critiquing annie’s writing.
i’m just messing with ya. i apologize to the nice business owner, who let me have a visit with her dog. i once staked out a van that had two schipperkes in it. the lady was so pleased that i knew what kind of dogs they were, she let me have some time with them
OB, why would you take something of value to you to a bar, and leave it in the hands of some bar drone staff? What did you expect? They probably sold it for pot.
surprised no-one’s mentioned that she shouldn’t leave her shit lying around….
oh, I guess timmy popo kinda did.
if it was part of the costume, you should have been wearing it…
if it wasn’t… leave it at home, under lock and key.
Anything I have that came from my dear and departed dad stays at home because you just can’t replace that stuff. Sorry to hear someone had to learn this the hard way. Maybe, op, you could try posting a notice at said drinking establishment explaining the value with a request to return the “accidently” taken coat, no questions asked. May not work but it’s worth a try.
I feel bad for OP, but then again if it was that important why would they leave it lying around with a bunch of thieves and sketchy people? The reason they have coat checks is because people in Halifax love to steal coats or anything in general.
I lost my dad at 17, OP, and had I lost something he had given me, I would have been crushed. Just imagining it brought a feeling of genuine empathy I haven’t felt in 40 years.
i think seb is cruising the straight bars now, looking for a new wardrobe.
