  5. OP, you miserable, near-sighted dimwit. As silly as it is keep one’s door unlocked, it is NEVER a case of the victim “asking for it.” I mean, who knows? Maybe some of them simply forgot, or a visitor or a roommate forgot. Either way, victim-blaming is pretty low. You’re just as bad as all those jackasses who say that a rape victim asks for it by wearing dresses above the knee.

Life Sucks, I understand what you’re saying about Halifax – it’s not the safest place in the world – but remember that some of these women are not from the region because they’re here for university. Sometimes living in a new place that seems more peaceful than, say, Toronto can create a false sense of security. Plus school life and culture shock can cause more forgetfulness than one might think.

    About the “3 feet in your place” thing, what if there are no witnesses? Are the girls supposed to just let the guy do as he pleases because they’re home alone? Plus, y’know, I don’t think folks are allowed to keep firearms for non-hunting purposes, unless one counts perverts as game.

  12. Kay, the OB’s opinion is not the prevailing one so I don’t think it’s very representative as Nova Scotians as a whole. Whenever someone says anything you disagree with you always jump to this whole “I hate you stupid NSers, you make my life horrible” place that I simply don’t understand. You’re always urging people to stop playing the victim and take come control of their lives and I suggest you do the same. You want everyone around you to change so that you can enjoy this city and, I’m sorry, but that’s not going to happen. You have to change your attitude and stop allowing yourself to be so affected by a couple bad apples.
