Why are we putting solar panels imported from China or Europe on the new “Local, Sustainable, Ethical” Farmer’s Market. We’ve got a locally owned company in Dartmouth that has been designing and manufacturing world class solar panels and solar systems since 1981. So much for the “Local” and “Ethical” portion of the the new Farmer’s Market slogan.

I have no knowledge about solar panels but perhaps the ones made in china / europe (which is it, by the way?) are actually better than the ones coming out of the darkside… maybe the advantage of using more efficient panels offsets the downside of shipping them accross the world and sending our money away.
I’m all for shopping local and everything, but it’s not always black and white as to what is better.
This looks like it could make for an interesting article…
Ha ha too true “Bastard Fish.” I bet The Coast’s “sustainability expert” Chris Benjamin is looking into this as we speak… look for a front page cover on this important issue in the coming weeks. Can’t be any worse than a few pages about some lame local comedians.
Yeah, I guess cost shouldn’t be a factor, hm? This guy sounds like a jilted contractor.
