Why aren’t groups like Universal Soul and Hip Hoppers like Halifax, and Ambition, Ghettochild signed to major labels yet?

  1. Hip Hop is one of the biggest markets out there and cudo’s to those who can actually pull it off well. My point goes to the marketing budding musicians HAVE to do. They think they want to be in a famous band but really, they want to be marketing experts… that is, if they actually want a career in d’biz

  2. Its just like every other band in Halifax who hasn’t been signed to any major label… it seems as though you need to move to Toronto.

  3. Probably our handgun controls here have prevented a lot of local hiphop crappers from getting what they want, unlike in the US where they just threaten people with death and take it at gunpoint.

  4. Hip Hop is one of the biggest markets out there because they’re using sex to sell records. I don’t see that from the local talent…. because I don’t see the local talent and I like it that way.

Get some bitches to dress in tight pleather and 4″ heels while you rap about how hard you was on the bus to spryfield is about your best shot….

  5. Rap wasn’t always like that…I listen to the old shit, but refuse to listen to that sort of womanizing BS, and it’s not just rap ….nickle back has horrible lyrics

  6. in my opinion the best did get signed and that’s Class… he worked long and hard and he finally is getting somewhere… these guys will too if they REALLy want it.

  7. Fallingangels is right. I have no use for modern hiphop but the forerunners like Beastie Boys (they still fucking rule) are why we even have hiphop today.
