To a certain burger joint in HRM, you are deceiving the public with your “local” claim. Don’t pretend I didn’t see the Sysco truck unloading your beef and potatoes. —One unhappy customer who might as well eat at McDonalds than this place

Better not be Ace! Can we get a name now? The mod won’t post it in the Bitch but you can leave it in the comments.
My phone autocorrects bitch to pitch. Steve Jobs was probably behind that shit.
So are you saying Sysco can’t deliver local food?
Dish!
sysco does local delivery from berwick to halifax…..
Legally, a company can sell food that was grown/harvested/caught hundreds of KM away and still call it ‘local’.
“…under a new interim policy, the organization is expanding the definition to mean food produced in the same province in which it’s sold, or food sold across provincial borders within 50 kilometres of the originating province or territory.”

I’m pretty sure someone has to get the food to them, and Sysco just happens to have a large warehouse and fleet of trucks to do it with. It could still be local, and you can always ask the place where the beef comes from.
Yeah, Sysco keeps a huge supply of NS beef on hand…dream on. Some of their products do come from PEI, and are good quality, but still…we are mainly talking Alberta here.
Spend some time at the cash and carry and watch various comitteed to local resto owners marching out with dubious looking ten pound tubes of ground meat under their arms…bet thats not for staff meals.
