Somewhere in life I have lost my dream. My passion. My thing that I use to get out of bed in the morning. My mojo. I need to get off my ass this year and get myself out into getting my life back. I’m not sure where it went I’m pissed I lost it somewhere. —Lost my sheep don’t seem to know where to find it

and then you can always take a walk, not a bike ride, or drive, up to somewhere nice and high, after you get there, look out at your surroundings, see that little boat or car down there, cute hey, now let’s just see you swandive and try to hit it headfirst. if you do this, and fail, it means that you are a fuck up loser, and deserve whatever shit life throws your way. just fuck off.

If you had it once, you’ll have it again. Divert yourself with something else for a while, then go back to whatever your passion is (hoping it isn’t fellating watermelons) with fresh eyes.
Every morning is another chance at a fresh start. I’ve had some shitty times. Every day I woke up was a chance to do something different.
If you’re in a rut, vow to do something completely different tomorrow morning. I find the change helps me get some perspective and helps me see what else is there, not just the same old shit that is making me feel like I’m in the movie Groundhog Day. I find exercise gives me a whole lot of inspirational chemicals to the brain as well, and the forward momentum helps me break out of the rut.
Hang in there. It gets better.

Agreed.. I’ve been there. And sometimes, after all that searching, you end up finding your old mojo got better 🙂
..I’ve been there brother… the loss of mojo is a catch-22 thing … gotta get out but you don’t have the gumption to do so … one day at a time 🙂

Borrowing a dog is an excellent idea! My household hit an all time low a few years back, and a big, loving, happy lab actually brought joy back into our lives. It was a perfect setup…her owners didn’t have to feel guilty about being so busy, the dog got to use up all her excess energy with my kids and we had no vet bills.

Hey OP, I’m sorry to hear that you’re feeling down. It’s really hard to get out of it, but I’ve been there and there are small changes you can make that will make a huge difference. I started making changes by doing things that I always made excuses for… I started exercising, started playing a winter sport, I put out an ad and started a part time job doing something I love, I also started doing the things I loved when I was a kid… arts, crafts, etc…
Trust me, it’s hard to find a way out when you feel like you’re in a slump, but it’s not hard to make yourself happy. But you’ve got to do it for you. Find the things that make YOU happy and just friggin’ do it!
Side note: self help books don’t work… you need to get out there and take action!

OP, everyone gets into a rut every now and then…it’s normal. Write down a list of ideas/activities (not material objects) that make you motivated and happy, and work on a plan to make it happen. It can be as simple as making time for a new hobby, or as complex as a career change. Plenty of others are on that same quest, myself included. If you focus and put some effort into it, you’ll feel great as your mojo returns to you.
