To all the bike light thieves: STOP IT. Stealing bike lights is a shitty, spineless move. A bike light is worth virtually no money, but could mean the difference between a person safely biking home, or getting seriously injured, or killed. Cyclists already have way too much to worry about in this ridiculously bike-unfriendly city, and for those of us conscientious enough to use proper lights, you petty thieves are just adding insult to injury. —Walking Bike Home at 10pm

  1. yes pg.. People with cars have to do stuff like that too OP, like with stereo decks and whatnot. I’m sure it would fit in a jaket pocket. Even if the bike light is only worth 5 bucks at a pawn shop, that’s more than enough motivation fir a crackhead to steal it.

  2. Mine was about $30…I keep it in my pannier and only attach it at night. The blinky back light I usually leave on, because it doesn’t look special.

  3. Congrats to whoever is stealing the lights and reducing the number of bikes in HRM streets. OB, how is someone stealing your light if you have the bike in your house?

  4. You talk about bikes as if they were wheelchairs. It’s no worse to steal a bike than it is to steal a wallet, a jacket, a car, or whatever else. It IS, however, a new kind of low to steal a wheelchair. I find alot of you cyclists whine as if you WERE driving wheelchairs, which makes me sick.

  5. yeah dudes, just steal the whole bike next time. o.p., talk to your insurance agent, i believe they have a policy for shit lie that, if it was on your property.

  6. I like the headlights that strap to my helmet. that way, it shines whereever I am looking.

Solves two problems, cause I never leave my helmet on my bike.
